Here the advice I got when I asked my chick friend this same question:

Here's my advice:
Girls tend to like the emotional aspect of guys more than the physical look aspect that there is from the start, so if you talk to her and be yourself, it'll be easier to tell because she'll be more interested in YOU, not the actual conversation, and you can tell that by how she replies to you or asks questions about it, she'd do it gently but sweetly to you, and by the tone of her voice and how she talks to you can tell easily. If youre scared to ask her directly, start off with just simply saying "Hi!" with a smile in the hallways, or by generally being friendly. If you know her already somewhat, just ask her for it. It makes the initial awkwardness dissipate more quickly and people are usually a lot more honest over text as well.

If a girl likes u, u will caatch her staring at u once in a while. She may blush when she sees u. She also might avoid u....yeah i know u might be like "why?" but its just cause girls are shy. Also she might avoid u to avoid getting embarrasssed in front of u. If she walks by u many times she also might want to get ur attention. It happened to me i was walking by this guy like many times only cuz i had to get things and he though i was trying to catch his attention so when i was walking back he walked up to me and was like "oh i see u dont worry, wanna go out" I was like " no Im just tryna get my stuff" then he got in a total embarrassment cause everyone laughed but to make him feel better i said he was cute but i knew he can tell i said that just to save embarrassment but he embarrassed me too when he said i see u like im tring to get his attention or something..anyway u can tell if a girl like u.
