so basically the other day at cadets, i collapsed because i was stood up too long, and everyday since, everytime i stand for longer than 5 mins i feel all shakey and faint, and if i dont sit down i collapse again. Its really annoying because the bus is always full so i have to stand and i am constantly colapsing now, and my friends have to stop be literally falling to the floor,
I dont know what to do about this?

To be honest I suggest you consult your doc as he is probably better than us when giving this kind of medical advice.

hmm, well maybe that first time triggered something. you should really go get it checked out.

It could be a few things, yes, locking your knees or dehydration might be reasons.... I wouls suggest talking to your school nurse, it seems like a simple problem with a simple solution. When you stand you NNED to have your legs slightly bent. Just...ever....so....slightly, I know how squad leaders and officers can be, just slight enough that they will not notice.
I have been in choir for many years and when inexperienced sings start they lock their knees and then they pass out, being under stress for a concert and then under the hot lights....if you hit your head you do need to be checked out by a physician or your school athletic trainer to see if you have a concussion. I have been signing for a little over 15 years now so I am used to it so I can lock my knees becuase of my Opera stance but when you are starting please do not.
Drink your water and when you are at attention slightly bend your knees.

Been in cadets for 3 years now, and can give you a 1 hour lesson on how not to faint whilst on parade. However summed up - WIGGLE YOUR TOES INSIDE YOUR BOOTS - If you move your toes, blood keeps circulating, and you don't get heavy legs. Before a parade, drink water or something like orange juice is perfect to due to the sugar. And do not ever go on parade without breakfast, lunch ect - that will almost be certain to make you drop.
I would suggest you see a doctor, you should recover promptly from fainting - ive treated countless cases of cadets fainting, and most of them locked knees, or weren't moving their toes. One fellow SGT I met on a course said - "You look down, you'll go down" meaning look up, one its what you are meant to do, and two; it will make you feel faint.
Hope this has helped, if you need any further info, or any questions - ask it here or feel free to let me know, happy to help :)

Standing for long periods of times and then fainting is not unusual, but 5 minutes is a little short.
I have something called orthostatic hypotension, which means my blood pressure drops when standing still, and therefore I collapse. It could be that. I suggest going to see your doctor.

i saw go see your doctor, you can have a fainting spell or a heart condition. the other day in school a girl passed out right in front of my locker, and i was helping her and when the nurse got there she ended up going to the hospital and having a low blood pressure and high heart rate. and she told me today she has a heart condition and she allso thanked me for evry thing i did. so i say going to the doctor cant hurt

In Air Force JROTC, when we stand at attention, I start to feel shay too, but I've never collapsed...I think that you should either consult the Officer there or Your Doc.
