Do any of you guys/girls wear them while running? Looking at the benefits of them long term after sufficient calf strength has been built, they might be worth the investment.

I really don't like when people wear them for like regular shoe use. It just looks weird to me.

They're shite. If you're looking to enhance calf strength and running posture, Vibrams (or any kind of shoe) are not going to do it any better than being normally shod.

Barefoot running. Nuff said.

I see them often at the gym. No idea what they do or what they are for but they look awkward. If you want to mimic bare feet, just buy shoes with minimal sole like Pumas.

Vibrams are the exact same thing as Pumas (if you're thinking minimalist) with LESS sole. And anything with more than a thin, unsupportive layer of nylon, cloth, wool, or plastic does not mimic bare feet.

I want to get them but I'm not sure about that. We don't have an appropriate running trails here so I'm afraid that running on the usual roads would be hm... harmful

First of all, they're ugly as f***.
Now that's out of the way, they probably don't provide as much arch support as other shoes do and honestly there are other ways to get the same benefits.
I wouldn't if I were you.
