I would always shake when I was younger because that's what I was taught to do. I kinda went crazy with it and would shake for like 15 seconds. Now I usually shake, but sometimes I forget and I don't make a big deal about it.

Because when you hit puberty you usually become more aware of your genitals so some people who didn't shake before might realise they are getting a bit of pee on their underwear and start shaking, wiping etc
