ok so im new here n was goin through the different forums yesterday n didnt realize it was such a big deal to reply to a thread that was over 30 days old i guess they consider it "bumping" but whatever... i caught all kinds of grief from this it seems like if the "Mods" were so against this they should maybe move the thread to the archive sections and lock them when the post is around 30 days old... it seems its not hard for them to do it when you "bump" the thread i just think it would save aggrivation n prevent bumpin n they wouldnt have to constantly post "bumped thread" :locked:
or just if a "mod" notices a thread somewhat dead or becomes not active anymore lock it just as they do if they notice 1 gettin out of hand
my mom always told me dont complain bout somethin should be fixed or is wrong unless you can come up with a few solutions to the problem so theres my suggestions for this problem
and i do appologize for "bumpin" threads

the bump rule is 2 months...except in the Arcade where there is none...and there aren't any archive sections except for the P101 archive.
mods don't have time to lock every "dead" thread. and the OP is allowed to bump their own threads
and Mods are just doing their job. you aren't supposed to bump old threads. that's a rule.

And all those "Mods" would just rather members follow rules so we (I'm sorry, so "mods") don't have to go in and lock every single thread.
It's simple as that.

i just didnt know cuz i know ive seen other forums where the topics expire in different number of days n when the time is up they automatically get locked n placed into n archive section n i know its all worked into the program or server somehow cuz its down to the minute of when the post started

there's no such thing (unless there is, correct me if I'm wrong, staff members). the only archive, as I said before, is the P101 archive...I've never known the topics to be automatically locked and archived

i didnt say on THIS site i said on other sites i have seen it before n was just curious why if they didnt like bumped threads here why they couldnt do the same as other forums i have been on (example: a quad/atv/motorcycle forum i belong to) so if those forums can do it there MUST be some sort of a program out there that does it or they have different types of servers or somethin i wasnt tryin to debate whether this site does or doesnt do it (obviously i know this site doesnt currently do it) or if it can or cant be done i was simply givin a suggestion for the STAFF of this site to possibly look into... goin into it deeper the atv 2 stroke forum i belong to i know for a fact that its done automatically by a program/server settin cuz as i stated before it countsdown to the minute of when the post was posted and i highly doubt the moderators that site has manually has to lock it seen as i have seen posts "expire" while none of the 4 moderators the site has have been online... the only thing the moderators on THAT forum have to do is enforce rules (bumping not an issue cuz of what i have said in the past in this post with it bein done automatically) they mainly make sure posts n comments stay on topic n that there is no abuse of other members or the site itself... also on that site even the OP (original poster) cant "bump" a thread they have to contact a moderator or 1 of the 2 site admins to re open the post n you have to explain why you want your post re opened n its not a garuntee they will reopen it like for example if the post caused arguements or didnt get constructive comments they wont reopen the post they will simply tell you your best bet is contactin 1 of the posters you want more info from or startin a new thread n wordin the title differently... again the only posts on that site the mods will archive is "dead posts" (posts that havent had any views or comments in a certain period of time however im not sure what that time frame is) maybe its not possible for this site to do cuz they have different limits for how long posts can be active that site is 90 days no matter what section its in... im not a computer wiz or programer as im sure your not either i just figured if i threw n idea out there it would be somethin that the site admins/staff here could look into wasnt really lookin to catch a bunch of grief from you or others its simply a SUGGESTION n my OPINION of somethin that might be a benefit to the site n even help the mods out on their end (which i do have a right to my own opinion as does everyother human being on this planet)
so with that bein said have a nice day...:yeah:
n SITE STAFF or ADMINs would it be possible for THIS site to operate a program like that through the current server or not? has it ever been questioned or asked to the server? if not n your interested PM me n i could try n find out more info on it through the site admin of the other forum(s) i know of that have such a set-up as i am pretty good online friends with 1 of them...:D

well as I said before, OPs are allowed to bump their threads. so that's why there isn't a system
and it's not like you'll get banned for bumping topics (unless you're spammer/bot), you just need to eventually know you aren't supposed to bump threads
reading the rules - which everyone should do before posting, anyways - and checking that the thread you're about to post in isn't hella old really isn't that hard.

ok i will accept that as i said before in previous comments im NOT tryin to turn this into a debate but do you go by the last comment date or the original post date?
i tried to reread the rules seen as thats usually the answer everyone loves to give here however for some reason my browser says error 404 when i try to open the forum rules link and before everyone jumps down my throat i am not sayin it is an issue with this site as for other sites i have tried to open have given me the same message i am havin my brother check my internet setting soon as i post this
if you would like you can even PM me and we can discuss this further in PM instead of continuin a thread on the subject... up to you pal

I'm sure there must be threads where the first post is older than 2 months and which are still active...

You are. It is the last post of the thread.
And with that, I think we're done here. :locked:
