Ugh! I'm sorry if this doesn't sound supportive but stop drinking energy drinks. I learned in biology last week that to get skinnier and in shape you must Eat. Jump start your metabolism and eat more to get the energy to actually work. I guarantee you will feel better if you ate at least 2 good meals. I really hope you get better. <3

Think of the consequences of being underweight. It's not going to get you anywhere in life and you won't be able to do what you want. So what if people think you're fat or skinny? What does it matter? Do others' opinions of you really change anything? I'd rather be thought of as the ugly but kind girl than the skinny but bitchy one.

Being underweight can ruin your life. Eating disorders hold you back. Do you really want to live like this forever? Why? What's it going to change? How does it make you a better person?

Is the sun fat and ugly? Are skinny trees better than big sturdy ones? Forget how you look. Your appearance will only get you that for in life. I'd rather be able to do what I wanted to without having to worry about food, my weight and passing out.

if you're going to go on with your swim practice then you will have to eat.
imagine how much calories you loose while practising! and you don't even get them.
besides that exercising will certainly help you in improving you body but you need energy for it.

Ugh I just can't believe my mom is making me do this.

I lasted most of swim practice today. I had an egg biscuit and a cup of milk this morning and a gummy bear and a raspberry smoothie after swim practice. I only had to sit out a couple laps to catch my breath (mild asthma ftl).

good :) i hope you're feeling at least a little better

I think you need to get your asthma under control and you'll stop passing out so easily.

You can be thin and eat healthy. Think about it. I'm not saying gorge yourself with brownies. Eat grilled meats and veggies. Also some carbs. And don't forget to drink water!! Definitely get your asthma in check. Black coffee works with asthma attacks. You need carbs for energy and protein if your doing a sport. Make sure you eat before practice even if it's a small amount.

Hey I understand you and even more because I also swim. Being thin had always been VERY important in my life and as you said. Id rather be told that im too skinny than too fat. But listen what happened to me since I was eating very little and swimming for almost three hours I nearly passed out in more than one practice, I was always irritable, my head always hurted and many other things. My parents took me to the doctor and I was a lot of pound under, I was explained everything that I was doing to my body and I was scared becausw it is really bad. I had to eat protein shakes between meals. And I finally figured out that being thin is only good when you are following the good steps. I know its hard but you have to realize what you are doing.
Hope this helped dude ;)

you know, passing out is really dangerous in general and in water it's way too risky. It's better to have a good meal before swimming practice (of course more than 40 minutes before the practice) than a chance to drown.

Hey, I'm a bit late to jump on this thread, but you sound a bit like me. I've been swimming competitively for ten years. I also cut (not as much anymore...trying to stop) and starve myself. I have severe allergies and exercise induced asthma as well, so I know what it's like to feel like you're going to pass out and not be able to breathe while swimming.

Listen, I know it's hard. I've been to my fair share of swim practice with nothing but a glass of chocolate milk all day, hours and hours beforehand, and it's hard (although, there is something seriously wrong with me, and I swim faster when I'm starving and lacking energy). But you need to eat. Just before practice, eat peanut butter crackers, or a granola bar or fruit or a yogurt. It'll give you energy, and you won't feel guilty about it. Also...I really wouldn't recommend energy drinks. They're really bad for you, and water will help with swimming and keep you hydrated.

If you need any help with the scars and swimming, feel free to PM me, because I happen to know a lot about that. Also feel free to PM me if you need any support or advice or anything. I hope it gets easier. Good luck!
