I know someone named Ana too,
but she’s not the same to me as she is to you.
I know someone named Ana too,
but she’s not a friend I can introduce to you.
People wonder why I hate Ana so much.
They can’t understand the grasp of her poisonous touch.
People tell me to force Ana to go away.
They don’t realise she thinks she’s here to stay.
I know someone named Ana too,
but she’s not the same to me as she is to you.
I know someone named Ana too
and she's become a force I can no longer subdue.
--
This came to me because I was thinking about how people nickname eating disorders Ana and Mia... and a friend of mine has a girlfriend named Ana (spelled exactly the same way too) and I found it sort of cynically amusing especially since a friend and I spent some time with her this afternoon.
Not my best.
