I was just wondering your views on the Screamo ? ^ ^
When I first listened to it I hated it and thought that it didn't even count as music, but then after a couple of months I listened to the same song again and I don't know why but I loved it :P - Asking Alexandria - Final Episode, If anyone was wondering.
What do you think about Screamo ? ? :) :)

Screamo is hit or miss with me, some bands are a lot better than others. My three faves would have to be Senses Fail, Atreyu, and Story of the Year.

Depends on the band.
I remember listening to Alesana when I was like 14 and loving it, and explaining to my mom when she questioned my about it, saying "it's like a release, hearing the words being screamed out."
I love Alesana, Asking Alexandria, Bring Me The Horizon.
But I'm not a fan of more hardcore screamo bands. I'll stick with the guys in skinnies and eyeliner haha.

No, no, no, no, no, and no.
It's like that pop punk emo shit with very poor death growls. It's too pop sounding.

as long as i can understand what theyre saying and it doesnt sound like the singer has a hairball, screamo is okay with me.
My faves in the genre are Asking Alexandria, Methods of Mayhem, and 5FDP, if they count (half-scream, half-sing)

He wasn't talking about the music you pull up that's always decent, he mentioned Asking Alexandria. And a youtube search for me brought up the pop side of this. What you have there I enjoyed. What I looked up because of this thread was horrible.

UnderĜath is the type of "scream" that i'll listen to, along with Senses Fails and a few others. But I'm not too huge on it anymore. I've mellowed out and am not as aggressive as I used to be. I can dig it.

If people are going to talk shit about a genre they should at least learn more about it, the influences, different forms of it, etc... Just fucking hate when people label entire genre a few words just like when dumbass people say "Rap is nigger music about killing, raping, smoking weed and making money" or "Country music is about riding horses and loving George Bush's grey pubic hairs."

I really can't stand this kind of music. I don't understand it at all. I appreciate when the screaming is part of the normal song but not the whole lot.
Clear vocals is my choice, I really love beautiful voices.

It has its goods and bads, though that applies to every genre. Personally I can never get into screamo vocals because they put me off.

I agree with the post above there are pros and cons.....in general I don't mind screamo as long as its not to hardcore.

I love everything from Rock to Death Metal. "Screamo" isn't really a genre I recognise. You're probably referring to Post-Hardcore, stuff like Hopes Die Last right? All good stuff. I like screamed vocals on their own, with clean vocals, or none at all - as long as it suits the music its all good for me.
