View Full Version : Age limit?

Hey guys!

I am wondering if there is an age limit for being on this site?

Aparently, GovClass now has an unposted rule that if your over 19, you can not be there and you get banned. As this site is also part of GovTeen, Inc, I wanted to check on the age limits here.

Thanks!

We don't allow people to register and post if they are over the age of 19.

However if you registered while you were 19 or younger then you are allowed stay. Because we are VirtualTeen, we try and keep our members within the teen bracket.

Alright, I registered in March 2004 so I was still 19 then.

Ok thanks for your response.

Well just so you know, from what I can tell there is no age limit listed on GovTeen, Inc, or anywhere on any of the sites. All GovTeen inc says is you have to be 19 to run a project.

Might wanna look into that before you tell members they have to leave. :)

as senior staff its our job to protect and defend our members, were here for them, there safety and well being comes first
If you joined before you were 19 for instance I joined when I was 16 your a long time member, have friends here etc... then your allowed to stay, VT is a small place and there part of the fam

but we don't allow adults

This rule was created and inforced by our founding Admins over 3yrs ago

just to let you know

We may be part of GovTeen Inc. but we are not run by a central set of rules, the leaders of each of the projects were free to establish their own set of rules. As such we established our own rules regarding the age of members. You might want to do some research before you question our rules.

I did my research, in any case, I didnt post this to start a fight. I was curious about the age limit. Then I was suggesting that something be posted stating what the age limits are. :)

I really don't think it necessary to highlight that, I think our name, VirtualTeen, works good enough. We have never had a real problem with overage members, only the odd one getting through but which are soon dealt with.

I just have a question which i dont think was asked. If you join when you were say 16, and you are now 20. Do you have to leave VT for good? I know Alex and Cody are 19 right now, so will they have to leave when they turn 20, even though they are both very important to this forum and both have a great ammount of posts?

Bobby's right.

As part of the VT rules (or maybe the Govteen rules) which I remembered (been forever since I read!), I remember it saying something like 'any member joined in their teens may stay once they are an adult for educational reasons.'
So we are all learning something new, everybody can stay for as long as they want as long as they don't get in trouble!
But some of us will always break off and grow up...

P.S. good questions!

True, a member with +35,000 posts is a top authority and is well known on Govteen, he posts mainly in the puberty forum.

But I think I do a pretty dang good job anyway! :P

It helps when a site stays up. Like I mean I joined GovClass when I was 18, but it went down and when it came back up I was now over 19.

He was also a G-Mod, and a member since that "version" was created.
