I won't go into detail, but I want to go onto the pill.. But I'm worried about side effects of it.
I have heard so many rumours that it makes you depressed, and messes with your hormone levels significantly. I already have depression so I can't afford for it to make me worse.
So what I'm asking you guys is, is anyone on it? What are your experiences of it? Do you know of any side effects?
Thankyou, sorry if it's in the wrong place. You can move this if you like :)
Edit: by the way I am legal in the UK (forgot about different rules in different countries)

Personally I would suggest you contact your GP about it, they can explain much more to you than what we can.

Yeah I'm not on it personally :P But yeah like he said, your GP would be the best resource to find information, and can talk you through the specifics. If you don't wish to consult your GP, then most of the stuff you can find online :)

Even though you're going to ask a doctor, I want to put my thoughts in!
I've been on the Pill for over two years now. I wish I could have made the choice myself, but my mother forced me to go on it as like punishment. Of course, I'd have chosen to if I was allowed. Depending on which pill you get on the side effects probably won't be that significant. Weight gain is probably the most worried about side effect, and the pill levels out your hormones.

I meant to write more to my first post but I had to get to work, so I posted what I had!
Well it won't actually make you gain weight. That's just a side effect some people experience. I don't think I've gained weight, I'm the exact same as I was when I started them (Give or take a few pounds over the past few years, as most people do :P). Being on birth control will make you feel ten times more safe and secure when you have sex. Sex with just a condom, and nothing else, can leave you feeling very nervous when your time of month comes around. And since your period can change itself up when not on the pill, you can easily find yourself waiting weeks for it to come because you're so nervous something went wrong! Birth control regulates your period beyond belief. You know what day it starts, how many day it lasts, the works. So no more worry.
It's a good idea, really. It will also help with cramps!

Thankyou ever so much, i need to stop that nervous feeling.. I get paranoid really easily. I didn't know it regulated them, thank goodness mine are all over the place right now.
This has made me feel a lot better, you're a star <3

Lady, they have a set date for your period all set out. Lots of girls use that as an excuse for why they want on them!
I wish you good luck with the doctor. And I'm glad you feel better. <3
