Moshing

So yesterday i was at a place called the Amity Teen Center (atc for short). A few bands were playing and it was cool. It seems that the bands that play there are mostly local screamo/ metal type bands. And my friend is pretty like famous there because his band plays there sometimes. Anyways as usual with these type of shows there was a mosh pit. And i swear this place was made for it because the floor was padded. Anyways, i really wanted to get in there. Now, i've never moshed in my life. And by the time i was really excited and pumped and reallyyyy hyper, the pit was full of "hate" moshers. People that run around swinging their arms and legs around, doing flips, being pretty dangerous. I knew i shouldn't go at this point because i knew that i would just get hurt and look stupid. I wasn't even in the pit and i got punched. But my friend took my phone and wouldn't give it back untill i went it. So i kinda bullshitted my way in. I just ran through and started handbanging like a dumbass. So she gave my phone back.

So my brother is coming over and he's going to show me the basics. He's been moshing for about 20 years, and he's like 29. And he says next time i go to a show like that, i should call him and he'll come and yeah.

It can be scarey. I remember my first metal show. It was a couple local bands. And my brother's brother's* was playing and my brother's* band was playing too. And that was my first time ever witnessing a mosh pit. I saw 2 people being carried out with a messed up leg. And i remember standing in back and after the first song one of the girls that was in the pit shouted "i'm already bleeding!" And when i was on the outside of the pit participating by pushing people that fell out back into the pit. And i fell and got stepped on.

Yeah. I'm really excited to finally go in the pit. At the atc usually here's no girls moshing. So for being the only girl in the pit I get mad respect. People who go in pits and do good get respect and for being a girl i get even more :D
Like, my sister in law and my brother Have respect all over Connecticut and even in Mass. Like when my sister in law goes to shows in Mass people go up to her and say "you're that psycho chick who beats up all the dudes in the put!" Andd i want that to be me.

* My brother's brother. Yeah, not a typo. My brother and me have different fathers. And my brother's dad has kids with another girl (my bro's step mom). So my brother has a brother and his brother isn't my brother because we have different parents. It's confusing i know.. You'll catch on.

Well, ym friend elbowed the band bassist in teh face. the bassist was moshing while playing, which is awesome! And when my friend was moshing his shoe fell off and hit his friend in the balls. Sooo when moshing make sure your shoes are laced tightly!

My brother's friend got kicked in the face when he tripped and broke his nose. Had to wear a cast for a month or two haha... Only thing that really keeps me from going to mosh pits. That, and I'm skin and bones

Strangely, I've been to a few metal shows but the worst show I've ever been to as far as the happenings in the pit was a Blue October concert where everyone was bladdered and hitting people. Ambulance came and some really intoxicated girl was taken to the hospital.

I just came out of it smelling like beer.

But that's the reason I skipped the last Marilyn Manson concert that was around my area. I just thought, fuck, that's going to be the worst to be in the pit. And I don't sit during concerts. Discounting the last one where I almost passed out because my blood sugar was so low. But I talked to a girl who went and she said it was completely fine. So I'm sad now. :P

I don't listen to a lot of music that is really involved with the moshing shit. Actually... nope, none.

Marilyn Manson is great and there are not massive moshpits during his concerts usually.

Holy shit I love moshing.

I'm short, like 5'2", but I can be strong. I love the feeling of getting hurt, so it doesn't intimidate me. There are some times where the crowd leans to one side and I think I'm going to fall and die... it's scary, but afterwards it's a rush. I like the bruises and scrapes.. I never really bled lol.

The best moshpit I've ever been in was at an Alesana/Motionless In White concert... it was also my first. Everybody was sweaty and it smelled so bad, and my throat burned. But... I was comfortable, you know? I looked like shit but I didn't care.

Just going nuts in a crowd of people who love the same music as you do, enjoying a band you all love. It's just really nice.

First mosh pit I ever got into was when I was seeing Atreyu. I was 14 and I didn't mean to get in it, it was full of men in their 20s. I hadn't been in two seconds when a guy right next to me was knocked unconcious. I had no idea what the fuck to do.. but people in mosh pits are pretty considerate like that and managed to hold everyone else off while this guy was unconcious on the floor. A few minutes later some random guy pulled me out thank god :P

I've been a bit scared to go in them ever since, since I have a heart condition and especially when i'm hot and dehydrated at concerts i'm pretty likely to pass out. I don't really fancy being trampled to death.

I'm alright with the little pathetic ones me and my friends make at small venues :P

Yeah. i'm pretty tough. my brother says that my mom is pretty good when it comes to mosh pits. or at least she was before me :P

I'm going to the ATC tomorrow. it's gonna be fun because a lot of my friends are gonna be there. I might try and go into the pit this time. Unless i drink. because when i drink i'm twice as clumsy as usual and i'm pretty clumsy in general (i manage to fall down while i'm sitting on the floor!).

I somehow managed to get into a mosh pit at a concert last night and ended up having some guy headbutt me with the back of his head and had my nose broken. Moshing is fun but only when you're not actually causing or being harmed o.o Usually I'm alright with mosh pits being pretty tall but yeah.. when you're not expecting it :P
