Hello. Sorry to bother, but I need help. I'm 13 (boy) and I have a friend (girl) who's becoming increasingly depresive. She's 13 too and I, alongside with her other friends, was searching the internet for answers, as the only thing she says is that she's lame and dirty. Her bff thinks she is overmasturbating, and although she says she has good reason to state this, she was ashamed to talk about masturbation with us boys. I know puberty can be very hard specially when you are a girl, and I decided to search here, a site about puberty. Girls seem very okay when openly talking about masturbation, and I'd like to ask you about a way to help my friend. Thank you.

My best guess would be to tell her it is ok to talk about masturbation and it is natural.....
just try to reassure her...

It could be puberty as well....It can make you take mood swings big style...i get them all the time.....just try to talk to her

Girls here NEVER EVER talk about masturbation. It's like taboo. I think they should, but I respect. Her case is far more complicated because she had strong religious formation. So if we just came up and told her "It's okay for you to masturbate, we all do it" she'd probably refuse to believe other girl do it (as the don't talk about it) and would die out of embarrassment. I's kinda complicated...

Does your school have support workers that you could go to discuss your problems.

In Scotland, most schools have these people and guidance teachers. If your school has these, I would advise her to perhaps speak about the problems.

I'm normally the one able to offer advice but even I'm stumped with this one..

I'd say try and do the things she likes to do and that might cheer her up.
