Majortiy of games now a-days have a Hardcore mode of something simallar and I wonder, how many people prefer to play on said hardcore mode instead of normal or "core".

I prefer Hardcore because of the fact its more realistic that normal modes and It is less frustrating because if you shoot someone in the head they are going to die where as core this is not always the case, so for that reason I prefer hardcore.

Ignore the poll my mistake

Hardcore often requires a lot more skill.

I prefer the regular modes though, because that the core game, and that's usually how i play my games.

Play Battlefield. It's already hardcore on normal games.

I hate hardcore. Only because I can't really stand working that hard, making a mistake, and losing it all. And it's a video game, the only realism I'm looking for is in the graphics. Hardcore mode meaning you die, you're dead, yes?

Well I do understand that.

For most games hardcore mode means longer re spawn time (not always)

Limited Hub

Weapons do more damage

Less health.

thats about it really sometimes in some games you may not get as much ammo or recoil is higher ect.

Or for stratgey games like more wait time or faster move time.

Things like that

Depends on the game.

What game(s) did you have in mind for this?

If a game doesnt have a hard core mode im going to put it in the bin.Which i have done sometimes.I like the challenge and the sense of achievment and its more fun for me.I think if u want super hard core fps go ghost recon 2 shots ur dead.Deus ex did hard core well but there are not many nultiplayer games that have hard core its mostly singleplayer there are exceptions like killing floor but it just doesnt work for multiplayer

Agreed. have you ever went on a game and went yay it has hardcore then you look at it and then you find out you have to be level 29 to get to it, I think you should not have to earn hardcore modes to me it should be pressed straight on and you can use it fuck COD with its level 19, If i am used to hardcore then why should I have to wait.

You say that Hardcore is more realistic but I disagree. For example I remember on CoD 5 (may have been any of them tbh, can't really remember) on hardcore you could shoot guys in the feet with a Nambu (again, could have been any weakish pistol) and they'd die. That really wouldn't happen though, that's just making them too weak. Of course there's the opposite side in that you could shotgun people straight to the chest on core and they'd wander away but that's just the point - No game is ever going to get it completely realistic, even if it only has one type.

I agree with you on that but again remember the bolt action guns from cod5 well when I was on core I shot a guy in the head and that does pretty serious damage and guess what? he did not die.

I agree no game is perfect but at least hardcore everything else other than shots to the leg would of been almost instant deal maybe the arms but anyway yes never going to be perfect.

And you were correct on the guy that was the JAP pistole

Silver wolf is right. And 1 thing game devs that do hard core should work on is more realistic penalties say get shot in the foot u loose blood become slow. And no offence but cod is piece of unrealistic crap i have all of the cod games so dont hate me let make my point. If a fps wants to claim its realistic or has a difficulty like this then its got to be ghost recon.dont get me wrong cods great for unrealitic shooting fun like many games but ghost recon does it better.please dont rage on for syaing cod is crapy in that way i like cod more the ghost recon just making a point :D

I agree cod is rather unrealistic but again ghost recon has got to be one of the worst games ever because all be it realistic it has no good storyline or motion for getting things done and it is and can be slow as hell. I did enjoy the ghost recons but now with the lastest ones I have not as I think they can be some what to slow compared to COD.

COD is crap when it comes to realisitic-ness but at least for the MW series and cod5 (black ops was crap) the story lines were good and kept you guessing and wanting more (again black ops was diffeient but again still really bad)

What do you think of this rule of waiting until you unlock hardcore?

BF2 hardcore was realistic enough.

BF2 i didnt mind so much doesnt bug me at all but thats cause the game play is fun and general most of me and my mates are at the same lvl skill wise.Oh and i agree recent ghost recon titles are horse shit but it all depends if u are hard core or casual gamer :D

Well, I only have experience with hardcore mode in Diablo II, there you couldn't respawn after dying, that was it. So that's what I associate it with really because I haven't played a game with a different type of hardcore mode.

The Hardcore Mode for New Vegas is the most realistic HC mode I've ever played. Most HC modes are easy to figure out i.e, more enemies, slightly smarter AI, health regenerates slower/not at all, etc..

I really dont think RPG games count and the title does say multiplayer but thanks for input

personally i hate hardcore multiplayer, i think it takes the skill out of the game.
1-2 bullet kills just turn the game into a camp off because who-ever sees eachother first wins.
On core if you get hit once in the back and the other player is awfull you can turn on them showing how bad they are and how much better your reactions and precision is=you being better than the other player. things like that impossible to do in hardcore.
also in hardcore modes Hipfire is better because you can get a few shots off and kill them, which is luck, in core its harder to get hipfire kills because you need to shoot more to get the 3-5 bullets in them you need to kill them, you can ADS and get them 3-5 bullets in faster. hope i explained that ok but you get my point :P

I always go for the easiest setting :P mainly cause I suck at most games and everyone else will dominate me in 3 seconds.

I don't rly care about hardcore, plus I not in to the whole realistic=good. A game can be fun with out it being realistic.

I agree in some ways it can take skill out of the game from that view

But what about when people on core. they use the same weapon with high rate of fire where as hardcore people dont. Also it icreases your chance to be accurate because if you miss, you are dead therefore creating accuracy.

Also if you look at it core hipfire is way too popular as people just walk towards u and you shoot 2 bullets and they just spray at you.

If they had core without a map on screen and normal human health then I would play it but until then I am sticking with hardcore.

p.s you explained it well

thats why im playing BF3 atm, you have to be accurate and guns arnt OP, people say the shotguns are but its a shotgun they are supposed to be OP at close range :S
