I got a 1670. Is this good or bad?

So that's about a 557/800 per section
That's not bad. If your GPA is higher you should be fine with most schools

What is your combined score of math and reading? That is what most colleges look at. They don't care about writing.

I got a 500 on math and 620 on reading. Is that good?

Do you take any honors classes? If you do, then your GPA is out of 5 not 4. Also at 1600+ is average on a SAT

not necessarily true. I take honors classes and our GPA is out of 4...I have a pretty good GPA, around the same as Nihilus'

no, it's still out of four. Because if you're taking some, not all your classes are weighted. Also a lot of "honors weight" is +.5 not +1
At my school honors is +.25 and AP is +.5 in GPA weight.
So a 4.2 gpa is a 4.2/4

But yeah that's not bad. I'd say your SAT and GPA don't match up, but all that really says is that you're not the *worlds* best test taker and shouldn't effect you unless youre applying to, say, harvard or yale or some shit like that

I'm a freshman in high school and I'm already being bombarded with info on taking the SAT's, practice SAT's, what they mean. Its kind of scary and I feel like I'm being thrusted into this "hurry up and grow up" world.

Yes. The good colleges want everything to be above 500. You may want to take the SAT again depending on the college you want to go to. For most colleges that will be fine.

It's fine for most schools other than like Ivies and MIT, UC-Berkeley, Stanford, etc.

My sat was pretty low but my act was better, 24, and I have a gpa of 3.61 not including first quarter. I think it was like 3.84 combined after this quarter

Ha yeah, the SATs really aren't as bad as people make them out to be. I actually found the hardest part of it was how long it is and the fact that you have to stop in between each section.

Other topic: 1120 is a respectable two-score and as long as you aren't looking for Ivy league you should be fine. :)

The SAT is waaay too long. I thought it went quickly the second time I took it, but still. I got a 1950 my second time around. 650 on math and 700 on reading. Its easy, just tedious.

I got a 1720 on my SAT and my GPA is a 2.99. Pisses me off because the school doesn't round and it dropped from my history class last year, so I can't count it as a 3 -.-

Damn you got me by 20.

My schools really weird with the way it does GPA, your regular courses are out of a 4.5, and any Accelerated/AP courses you take are out of a 5.0

So I have no idea what it converts to, mine is a 4.2 though.
