View Full Version : Can't really be bothered to live anymore

I don't really know why. But today I can't be bothered to live. I just feel angry, sick, sad, sorrowful and more anger again. My friend might be self harming, I found out my other friend is manic-depressive, self harming and has EDNOS. I just feel overwhelmed, and I'm cutting again.
I would get help, but only if my parents didn't have to know. If I could go to my GP and have them not tell my parents a thing then I'd be happy.
Sorry just venting.
Does anyone know if in the UK I can go to a doctor and talk confidentially without my parents knowing?

I don't live in the UK, but I don't see why not. If you trust him/her, then I wouldn't worry.
You will get through this. You have one chance, make it worthwhile.
Good Luck with everything, and feel free to PM me about anything

If the condition is psychological, would a psychiatrist not be the one to turn to? As for your question, I don't live in the UK, but any doctor has patient confidentiality. But if you want to talk about things, remember, people on VT are always willing to listen. Especially a person by the name of Faithandtrust. Wonderful woman, she is.
As for me personally, if there's any way I can help, I will. But you should never relinguish the will to live because of a setback. Remember, things will always look up. I know it may seem difficult now, but what can't break you WILL make you stronger. I am a firm believer of that.
Most sincerely,
Robert.

Thanks a lot you guys:)
I don't really know how to get in touch with a psychiatrist, here in the UK we basically take everything to our GP and they would refer us to the appropriate person, so basically we'd get contacted by a psychiatrist or psychologist :)

If you need to be refferred to a phycologyst by your GP, I don't see why contact with your parents should be necessary. Just ask for confidentiality, I am sure your doctor will respect that, or tell you otherwise. :)

I think you can possibly but I am not sure. I am not sure I have heard stuff from some people saying that after your 14 you can go alone. I have always thought you had to have your parents until the age of 16 but I have heard people going alone. And my friend mentioned something about the age 14 so I am not sure but I think you would be okay.
