So... I don't know much about the genre. But i'm very interested.
The only artists that come to mind are The Mamas and Papas, Dustin Kensrue, James Taylor, and Bob Dylan. I want to find more music! I've turned to you guys to help me find some artists! All recommendations are welcomed and much appreciated!

Pasalaqcua (did he have a name change?) is a good user to ask for folk on VT and he's got a folky channel on Youtube too. This (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=80459) thread is good too. Personally:

Search "John Butler Trio". They're probably the most famous folk group in Australia :)

Pete Seeger, Peter Paul & Mary, Silly Wizard, Carter Family, Nickel Creek, Gillian Welch, Emmylou Harris, Old Crow Medicine Show... there's loads of them, lad. Folk music is kind of a blanket term, too, so there's lots of Celtic as well as old American songs, every area has its own folk music. You just gotta look around and see what works for you.
