so the other day my dad said he applyed for a deployment with the air force to afghanistan next year. this was a pretty big thing for me even though he said that he might not get it. Its been a long time since he was last deployed and im starting to come up with all these situations in my head about what might happen if he deploys. i dont want to stop him for doing something he loves but im worried about what might happen, you know? he could be killed, he could be injured. that sort of thing. I dont know i dont hope that he doesnt get deployed because i love that hes serving our country and i hope to follow him into the service but i just want to let him know i worry about it.

Well you have to tell him how you feel. If your proud that hes serving in your country, but your just worried, you can ask him to write to you and your family once in a while. It might not help much, but knowing hes safe and able to keep in touch should ease your nerves a bit.

I would be really proud of my dad if he gets such opportunities as well.
Definiately you would worry for his well being. As much similar to him being worried if you go out late at nights too.

Its nice to let him know you worry about him, at the same time giving you full support for what hes doing.
He needs the support of everyone around him, in order to carry out his service well.
Do not worry too much nor let your imaginations run wild.

Hes doing all these not because hates whats infront of him, but he loves whats behind him, his family, and his country.

A true dad to be proud of.

Let him know that your worried but that doesn't have to stop him, maybe ask him to write to you all the time? You really have a dad to be proud of:)

So glad he is serving our country; as the others said, just tell him how you are feeling about the situation. I'm sure some arrangements will be made. Just be glad your father is a brave and courageous man. o:)

I understand that you are worried about him, but it is his choice. He's willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, so that you and I can be free from oppression. Like many others have said, keep in touch with him if he gets deployed. He'd be glad to know that he has your support as well. I wish you and your family the best

You're dads a great man, not many people are able to do what he's doing. He's brave. He's putting his life on the life for everybody's security and well being; including yours and your families. Write him and send him packages if he gets deployed, ask him to write you back :)
