found this quote on the 'Independent' website, look it up if you want..

'Although women make up just five per cent of the prison population in England and Wales, they account for more than half of all self-harming incidents.'

You think that more women harm themselves compared to men?

I havnt got an opinion, i just hear statistics saying that it is more common for women.

I have also heard/believed that. I'm pretty sure women do more cutting than men

That statistic is probably true. You could create a poll on here for the gender of self-harmers. It would probably back up that idea.

I think girls/women are more likely to turn their feelings/anger in on themselves rather than acting out. It's more common for girls to "suffer in silence" than boys IMO, because it's more acceptable for boys to act out to get their emotions out, but not for girls.

I think men and women have the same emotions that can lead to self harm, but they just deal with it in different ways.
