So I am not a very good singer but I would appreciate it if you would be able to look at my cover of one direction's song what makes you beautiful. I have made my own little arrangement from it. Yeah, and it would be even better if you could subscribe to me on youtube ... I would return the favor :)

Why so aggressive?
Built up rage because you, yourself, as an artist never captivated your audience? Why do you feel the need to be so rude?
Trolling much?

He's definitely not as rude as he could be. And aggression? He was stating the obvious with little malice behind his words. Art takes dedication, tough skin, an ear for criticism. You will get nowhere if you can't listen to his opinion. Getting better in this field, and this goes for every type of art, is achieved by listening to criticism and acting on behalf of it. No matter how good you are, you will never continuously have your hand held. There will always be something someone finds wrong with what you do.

I was just gonna say something about this, Rith, but then again, this is a help website. She never asked for opinions, although it was implied. He didn't need to be that rude about it, though. We are supposed to be building up people, not tearing them down. We are a help website. Not a bully. .

Your voice is very pretty but at that volume, there is nothing that stands out. I agree, it just comes off as another shy girl with a guitar. You have a very sweet voice, let it come out more. You're on tune, which was more than I expected, honestly. It wasn't great but it was good and that's a start. :)
And Eric, no performer ever gets through life without being torn apart. As a dancer, my former dance teacher would yell through a megaphone on the night of the dress rehearsal that we suck and kindergarten kids could dance better than we could. I've have vocal coaches tell me that crying babies projected more than I did. I've lost track of the number of times a teacher has made me cry but has really helped in the long-run. He wasn't being rude, he was stating exactly what it was. Sometimes the harshness is what you need to keep the drive to succeed. If we were to constantly receive praise, we'd never improve. I've never believed in sugar-coating performance critiques. They get the subject of them nowhere. An ego boost is great but not at all helpful. You need a thick skin to perform in any way, 'cause there will be nice people and there will be brutally honest people whose words are worth taking into consideration.
Anyway, that was just my two cents.
But Amy, you just gained one more subscriber.

I don't think he was trying to get her better. I think he was just being rude.

It wasn't rude. It was his opinion and it's valid. It was just stated straight to the point. *shrug*
