Will God really bring beauty from my pain?
And all that's left is to accept that it's over
My dreams ran like sand through the fists that I made
...Here, I am at the end of me
Trying to hold on to what I can't see
I forgot how to hope
This night's been so long
I cling to your promise
There will be a dawn
After all this has passed
I still will remain.
After I've cried my last,
There'll be beauty from pain.
THOUGH IT WON'T BE TODAY,
SOMEDAY I'LL HOPE AGAIN!
AND THERE'LL BE BEAUTY FROM PAIN.
You will bring beauty from my pain.

In my experience i do think beauty comes from pain.
Before my depression and self harm im embarressed to say that i wasn't the nicest, understanding or compassionate person.
However, now that im through it, (well, over the manic depression and i only cut a few times a year), i think my whole character has changed because of it. Im no longer the judgemental, awful person i was. I know signs to look out for if someone feels upset but doesnt want to show it, i know how it feels to be judged, im empathetic to people with problems and im a better listener than before. Im certainly not perfect but im definitely happy that im not the person i once was.
You're going through a hard time now and it will affect you in ways you dont know now. You dont know how this time will affect you.
With me, what was once was ugly is no longer.
Beauty has come from pain.
Take care

I think they are true.
Isaiah 61:1-3
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”

I'm still not seeing the beauty. Something deep inside tells me I'll never get it.

No, no no they're not. At least not for me. :(
I am scarred and pain. Never beauty.
