Yet again America is acting as the police of the world.

This military operation isn't going to do shit to help the situation, anyway. Africa as a whole will forever be embroiled in a state of perpetual war until it can find a way to keep rivaling tribes and ethnic groups from attacking each other. If the United States and other Western nations were dedicated to helping African people, they'd promote this discussion. Really, Africa either needs to be split into more nations, or unified into one country with multiple divisions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_of_Africa).

Africa in its present state is unsustainable.

Now I am really jealous. Uganda got a piece of the American pie too? Wish America invaded us too so they could bring democracy to us and end all this unrest.

Oh wait, we don't have much oil

I doubt Uganda has oil. 100 US troops are being deployed in numerous African countries to stop the LRA from doing their fucked up shit. But we're also sending them to the new fertile nation of South Sudan. There's definitely a motive there for that, but I believe in whole it's to stop the LRA.

Uganda and South Sudan both have oil reserves. Now, if the motive is noble or not, I'm not sure.....or I'm partially sure....

id love to think this is from the pressure put on the american government by invisible children, but i doubt it. If im truthful, america needs to be taught a lesson. its ego needs to be reined in.

Exactly who teaches America that lesson?

I think that region needs some solution, but this may irritate the problem yet more. We need to train a faction that can eliminate the problem militias rather than intervene directly. Either that or we provide mild and restricted aerial and artillery support for a legitimate pan-African defense force.

Yes , Uganda has oil reserves, anyone that doubts that is uneducated and/or ignorant. Of course once again it is about the oil. No one gave a damn about Uganda until it was discovered the it had oil. Then under the title of humanitarian effort or action the countries sent in soldiers. It is always about money, greed and oil.

I don't know how to feel about this. I've had a big raging hatred for Lord's Resistance for a very long time, so I'm happy that something can be done about them, but at the same time it really isn't our business. Plus, are we really going over there to fight them or is there something else that we're wanting in return?

I don't know. My heart says those fuckers (Lord's Resistance) need to be all fucking killed as soon as possible.

The only problem is, they won't just be fighting adults. They're going to have to fight, many, MANY children too. This would be a very controversial thing. I can already see it.

Nobody is going to take them down though and it's only a matter of time for someone else to help, so it's not too surprising that US, whom feels like they have to be the daddy of the world, would want to help. You have to understand though, instead of your troops being blown up they're going to be tortured in the WORST possible ways now. As this group isn't too big, they are fucking insane.

I have mixed feelings. Don't know how to feel.

Edit:

Of course Rush Limbaugh, biggest fucking idiot imaginable, says that this is a War against Christianity and that Obama is doing this because the group kills Muslims. Like that's the only reason. Rush Limbaugh is fucking retarded, so don't listen to him. I'll explain why he's wrong:

This is a violent group saying they're doing the work of the Christian God by chopping up people, keeping sex slaves for years before killing the women, putting kids in their armies to help behead people. If you're a Christian, do YOU really want these people to be representing your faith in any way, shape or form. Doesn't this actually OFFEND YOU? Don't you think these acts are just a little... fucked up?

Also, don't get too worked up.

The U.S. troops will offer technical assistance but will not seek to engage the LRA in combat. The deployment deserves the citizenry's blessing.

Also Mr, Limbaugh, a lot of people DO know about this group here in America. Well, more people over 20 I'm sure, few under that age because it's a very touchy subject. You might of heard of Invisible Children or even, Oprah interviewing people about this. You would have to be the biggest fucking idiot on the planet to defend this group.

Joseph Kony needs to die. End of my story. I wish I could kill the man myself. There's currently less than twenty people wanted on the charge of crimes against humanity, three of them part of LRA. This should come of no surprise that they would be wanted dead at a time like this, because they're still raping and killing at, well, a bigger rate than before. They'll keep growing and getting worse.
