Little loveable fido...staring and smiling at you...for the rest of your life.

Look closely – can you tell which of the above pets is alive? If not, then that's the whole point! Enter Perpetual Pet, a company that freeze-dries your pet after she passes. Without going into too many morbid details, you can choose to preserve your pet's entire body in a natural state, not just the outer hide (like taxidermy). To get started, your pet is put in a sealed vacuum chamber at a very low temp and, over time, the accumulating frozen moisture is converted into a gaseous state then extracted – taking over six months for larger dogs. Unsurprisingly, the price for this process is not cheap; the service starts at $395 for pets weighing zero to three pounds up to $595 for 10 pounds (with $50 extra for each additional pound). Just when I truly thought I had heard of everything, up popped this company. Oh, and about that question I started with – both Trigger and Tiny are now perpetual pets.

 Okay...this just sickens me. Would you want to freeze-dry your grandpa and put him on a stand to stare at you? Hopefully not.

You could just imagine the kids: "FIDOO FIDOOOOO FIDOOOOO WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!"

Yeah, I can't imagine anybody paying that much money just for an unhealthy attachment they have to their pet...

How bizarre. Why would anyone do that? Oh well, people just do that sort of thing, I suppose. Strange people...

I never understand the people who want this done, regardless of price. I feel like:
A. It just makes it harder to cope with the loss of your pet. If I were to do that to my cat, I would never move on. I would imagine I'd just sob every time I look at him.
B. It completely dishonours the pet. No pet would want that. The natural cycle of things, regardless of liking it or not: born live die decompose. That's how it's supposed to happen, and that's how your pet will want it too. Just get another pet to lessen the pain.
C. It's just a bit selfish, don't you think? The pet's already dead, sure, but you're messing with the natural order of things just so you can ease the pain of losing your pet? Like I said, just get a new pet.
D. Is just fucking creepy.

My grandfather once joked to my mother when she was a kid that when her cat died, she could get her stuffed and put her on wheels so she could still be 'walked' on a leash... Yeah, his sense of humour leaves much to be desired but I found it sickeningly funny. XD

But in all seriousness, um, wtf? This is creepy. Not new but creepy.

I'm pretty sure follow-me eyes aren't robotic, but agreed a little creepy for your dead pet.

Actually I know someone who has this, but then again he owns multiple funeral homes.

Seriously though, my family was at a big end of school BBQ at this one families house, who have a lot of money from owning multiple funeral homes, and the father said that he still had his first dog. All the parents were half drunk by now so they called bullshit. He said yeah its in the basement of one of the funeral homes like 5 minutes away, he's curled up asleep on a pillow in an aquarium.

Next thing you know we had 30 people packing into cars on the way to a funeral home in bathing suits. Sure enough it was there. Name was Rags.
