so i was just wondering if this, the butterfly project, helped anyone one else. I tried it and i guess it sort of worked for a little while but the second it was completely faded i got the urge to cut again and caved, big time :/
i guess i just wanted to know if anyone tried the butterfly project and maybe made any improvements to it, possibly? I want to try it again but if the same thing is just going to happen all over again well then yeah…...

I thought about trying it once but I didn't because I already hate cutting so much while I am doing it. No matter how much I hate cutting it still doesn't stop me. I don't think the butterfly project will help. Also if someone saw a butterfly (or any drawing on me for that matter) drawn on me somewhere they would ask a bunch of questions. My family doesn't approve of drawing on skin.

What's the butterfly project?

It's to stop cutting, you can draw butterflies somewhere on your body (usually your hand or arm) and you name them people you care about. If you cut, anywhere on your body, that butterfly dies. It's supposed to help encourage you to stop cutting.

It didn't work for me. I can persuade myself easily. I just keep telling myself they're not the real person and smudge it off.

Yes, I've tried it before. It worked quite well for me.
A summary for the project for those who don't know.

Every time you have the urge to cut, you draw a butterfly on yourself with the name of someone who is close to you. If you cut, you've killed the butterfly. You must let the butterfly fade naturally, (No scrubbing it off). Someone else can also draw a butterfly on you, those ones are extremely important :)
