Well i read a post on this thread and they said something about govteen so i went to the site and i was in awe. not because of the material or the skins or anything because its horrible but i was in awe of the users. they have so many there was like 50 of them on at one time. what is it with this? has govteen been around longer? can we somehow get some of the users here? and hopefully i sont get banned for dissing their site

GovTeen's first version started in 1998 so they've been around for nearly 10 years while VT is just over 3 years.

Govteen is a super site! They have 28,000+ members in total, and their material is great. Like Ant said, it's been around since 1998 (actually, VirtualKid was and then Admins joined Govteen in 2002). It's very popular, and probably the reason why it's so big is because it's a primarily teen website with lots of material that people can search for.

Such as...'teen religion' or 'teen forums', or lots of other tags. In fact, VT was created by Josh (TheWizard), who is a non-active member of Govteen.

I think we could be a 'more popular' site if we could just upgrade some things a little bit. But I don't know what to do and I don't think anyone has liked my ideas so far so meh.

well... i thought their site was really messy and it was too bright. maybe if they could oranize some stuff but anyways yeah that site is huge. well i love vt cuz its more like a family and people are regulars here. well usually

Oh, Govteen has a whole bunch of regulars! And one of our skins is that bright, it's a regular vBulletin style. I like it alot! And I think they're well organised...It's so messy because there's so many posts being made!

gov teen is good for quick answers and talking to people, but a majority of them are ass holes...they are a bit pig headed

For a site that has 3,500 active members I think they do pretty good.

Well, the reason main reason that GovTeen is bigger is because they have been existent much longer than VirtualTeen has. With time, communities grow, it's just how things happen. Does that mean their community is better? No, just bigger. I've been with VirtualTeen since about 3 months after it started, and I still have not registered at GovTeen. There's no need to.

I suppose when people get more busy with things VT moves down on the priority of things that need to be done. As it should be as well. We all move on at some point.

Francis has been incredibly busy with his school work, and I suppose some kind of job has affected his free time too. I know he still visits and see's what's up and he can help us out with any kind of cPanel problem, though I don't think he posts because of the time he has. For example, his last activity was on March 13, but his last post was on January 10.

The last time Josh had activity was on March 20, around at 5:56 PM (CST). So it has been about a month, though I'm sure Josh is still avid about the site; he might just be a little fed up with personal things.

Anyway, the point is that they're still alive, and visit the site, but things must have come up - even internet loss is a possibility.

Though I miss them to, so I'm going to send an email to both of them :)

GovTeen, Inc. is the parent site, govteen is a project just like VT. GovTeen has been around for a long time, and they had the p101 link on puberty101, which gave them a lot of users.
