for all anorexics out there

because

i don't want people to hurt themselves

or kill themselves

just to be something as stupid as thin

(now i'm sounding hypocritical)

but i mean really

would i wish what i've gone through

on anyone else?

i sure wouldn't and it scares me how close

to death

i really came.



it hurts me too, how much i hurt my family

how every night

my mother would check to make sure i was still breathing

and cry herself to sleep knowing that i might not make it through the night









it scares me.

our fucking media is so focused on thiness

and perfection

that we lose ourselves in the quest



the quest to be a stick figure

what a stupid quest

why not something better

like finding a cure for AIDS

or ending world hunger





but no,

we must focus on how good the movie stars look today

or oh my gosh

what they did







but even how scared it made me

and how fucking thin it made me

Thats true enough. The media has a lot to answer for and this has been pointed out so many times. But the majority of people don't take a stand against it or reinforce the idea that curves and freckles and little imprefections are truly what makes you beautiful.

If we didn't have all of these stupid magazines aimed at young girls that are full with pictures of skinny women and hundreds of ways to loose whieght, that have been created purely to make people obsessed with being slim. i'm sure there wouldn't be half as many people suffering from eating disorders out there!

Also what idols do young girls have at the moment? answer not many but we do have an awfull lot of bad ones out there. Like here in Britian they give women of the year award to Victoria Beckham who is a succesfull women but is also a stick insect. What message does this send out to young girls? Keep slim you'll be more pretty so that you can marry a rich husband who will pay for you to enjoy your life!

I'm naturally skinny, very very skinny. People call me anorexic, but I don't do it on purpose. It really sickens me that young girls want to be like movie stars, or models, or wanting to be perfectly slim. But they don't realise that there is nothing called 'perfectly slim', because it's just a stage that will never get filled. They'll think that it's great to be skinny, and possibly anorexic, but people will just think they need help.

If you did beat anorexia, then that's great. It's really good to hear someone can beat the media. <3 good luck with everything

belive it or not i used to be really skinny also i ate just as much as all of my mates but i was just slim and classmates used to take the piss in the locker rooms .

Recently i had to take medication for my OCD that had a side effect of whieght gain and i went from a BMI of 17 to 22 . And Guess what? I now get the piss taken out of me for being slightly fat. And now i feel like an even bigger pile of shit.

I blame three sources actually: society, the media and guys (some of them.)

A while ago, the guys in my year were talking about Emma Watson and how thin she was in the Harry Potter 5 movie (she was anorexically thin if you haven't seen it) and talking about how she's the ideal weight that all girls could aim for. It's guys like these who deserve a kick in the balls, because even hearing a conversation like this can totally bring down a girls self esteem if she thinks she has a weight problem or is insecure about herself.
