Don't mean to be rude, but it seems to me, that countries such as Britain and America seem to have some sort of inherent anger towards rising nations in asia, notably china.

Why is this? Are they scared that they will take over or something?

But why do they worry significantly less about countries such as india, which also maintain solid growth?

Also, having been in China before, the chinese seem to revel in 'western' products and like 'western' things. Why is this not the case in western countries?

Hope I'm not generalising here, or being insensitive.. but this is kinda the impression i get from the news and many peoples reactions.

China is pretty oppressive and censor a lot of things. I do not like censorship, nor do I like oppression. Many people will pull the whole, "they're communist and communists are always evil" card. They just seem really surreptitious, and they seem to irradiate a negative vibe on a whole. I would not want to live there as long as they're communist. The main reason, like I said above, is because they are oppressive. That really destroys their credibility.

I think it's mostly due to a lack of knowledge on most people in the west's part because of how countries like China are portrayed. But I suppose it's also due to the difference in political ideologies and culture - is western culture just more appealing to people on the whole?

Or is just western culture, more appealing to westerners who are used to it? I guess india was once colonised by the british so they dont view it as a threat. Only hong kong was taken over by the british, and they don't really classify it as part of china, grouping them seperately.

Then why do Chinese people, like you say, love western culture too?

Its something new to them I guess. It showcases to them the 'wonders' of the 'already emerged' countries.

There are very wealthy people living in these countries, you know. :P

The margin of wealth is probably the biggest difference between a developed and a developing country.

Its actually probably biggest in a emerging country, where the gap between the rich and the poor are quite high.

Nevertheless, in the cities of china, where most of the 'quite rich' people are, they seem to be more interested in foreign countries, than before.

Obviously that's going to be the case. Perhaps I didn't make myself entirely clear.
