So after not walking or biking a lot for about 6weeks, last night i went for a 3mile walk and my calves(calves only) are in immense pain, I can hardly walk without stumbling. In 5days I'm going to HHN and will be doing a lot of walking, should I just rest and not walk around a lot until then, or bare the pain and walk more? Advice? >_<

Stretch, that is all I can really say, take some muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatory, talk to your pharmacist, they can help.

If your sore just try staying off of it for a few days. Let it rest up. Try to do some stretches when you get home and don't do anything over strenuous until your trip, hopefully you will have healed up by then.

You could also try taking some minor pain medication like Tylenol or Motrin.

Yeah as a sport medic ive seen this many times. Sounds like a strain or cramp. Try doing ALOT of warm up, especially since you are returning from non physical activities. Take things slow, and as Dimitri said, take take some Anti Inflammatory, ONLY if needed. Also when extreme pain occurs, try to slowing move the limb, and some Ice for 15 minutes wouldn't hurt. Try not to 'Walk On'as this can seriously do damage.

If you need any further advice or have any questions just contact me :)

I thought muscle relaxers were Rx only, and taking them w/o one is.. yknow. illegal. Otherwise, agreed w/that.

Maybe a heating pad. loungy with computer and put it on your calves. Your mom probably has one.
