There is a difference in a dream job and what you plan on becoming.

So, what are you planning on becoming?

Here are my top three, ranging from most likely to 'lesser' likely

1. Psychiatry (Ph.D - studying of the human mind)
2. Journalist/Author/Columnist
3. Sleep Medicine (somewhere within that field)

2 & 3 could be switched.

What are the last two occupations you listed? I used to write short stories, and I've been told I have exceedingly well grammar and vocabulary skills. There is a website called the Young Writers Society, you can post your stories there and stuff. Unfortunately...I lost interest in writing but really need to much more often. I journal though. :yeah:

Law school is costing me too much to turn back now :\

I either wait to jail baddies or defend the weak and do some social activism/pro bono work while I'm at it.

A few ideas I would like to implement after I'm called to the bar : pro bono representation in civil cases for bullied children, pro bono legal representation for people with autistic spectrum syndromes (like me), perhaps some field work (since I'm also gunning for certificates in social service and/or criminology).

Despite all the utopic ideas, I'll probably end up either putting people in jail or court-martialing them.

If you're going to be a psychologist, might I recommend going ahead and getting a Ph.D and becoming a psychiatrist? They can earn like $250k a year, the only difference (big difference anyway) is that psychiatrists can prescribe medication. I wanted to be 2 & 3 a couple years ago but the income isn't really stable. :(

Generative grammar, phonology, as well as French (my mother tongue), English, Spanish, and some German and a little Mandarin.

Generative grammar in particular is the worst subject I ever had the displeasure of being forced to take. It didn't help that the teacher was also about the worst I've had.

I use French in daily life, using English right now. I used Spanish mostly to curse at South Americans infesting free games. German and Chinese never really used (unless you count lame flirt attempts with Chinese girls).

And generative grammar? I will never forget those fucking trees. They end up so full of bullshit that it can take you a page width to express "I am a boy" in generative terms. I will never forget that adjectives in French can originally at one position, but we move them subconsciously while speaking so they end up in another position...of course, they leave a trace, so the adjective is there AND there, but it's not there...or is it? It's like a ghost double adjective. Fuck this.

Being a psychologist means getting a Ph.D. Being a psychiatrist means getting an M.D. That means you have to go through medical school, which is difficult and expensive, and takes time. Furthermore, a psychiatrist doesn't do much talking with the patient, or create the same bond with the patient that a psychologist does. In most cases a psychiatrist sees the patient maybe once every three weeks to check up on how the medication he/she prescribed is working. The psychologist is the one who engages in talk therapy. I'd prefer to be a psychologist.

I'd prefer a job I love over financial security.

Professional short story writer, cult known noise musician, meteorologist, maybe I'll have a miracle happen to me sometime soon and become a fucking Priest. I've thought about how hilarious that would be and the stories I'd preach over sermons. Maybe be a well known modern classical composer too. That'd be pretty exciting.

I am stuck in between astronautics and politics...the way I see it is I can go into astronautics and get a degree in that then just run politics without a degree in it (which would do GREAT for my populist/socialist beliefs)...

But in politics I plan on starting small and eventually garnering up enough support to made a bid for the first independent president.
