Have you ever taken it?
What's it like?
Do you get paranoia?
Good or bad experience?
Did you get caught?
Where does it come from?
What effects does it have on your brain?
(I'm sure they are negative) but what are the long term side effects?
More information?

Not sure exactly what it is other than a club drug. I heard about this and I know it's pretty odd, but I find these kinds of things interesting. I don't advise anyone on here to use it, not that I have any experience with it.

EDIT: This is aimed to be more of an educational and survey thread. I'm not promoting the use of illegal substances.

Also curious on people's answers for this. A close friend of mine took Ecstasy (Heroine-based); he didn't really get into the euphoria and what it felt like. Just told me it liquifies your brain.

Jeez. I heard that meth is like the worst one. But I can't be sure on that. Just heard it somewhere.

Street ecstasy and pure MDMA is not always the same thing. Around here, we get a lot of pills that contain stuff like tFMPP and cPP as well as BZP (piperazines). Sometimes we get pills with a little MDMA and a lot of meth or speed. In any case, the so-called "molly" is generally safer, because MDMA has a characteristic look, taste and sometimes smell (it can smell spicy, sort of like holiday spices). As far as I know, MDMA is not too harmful, but when people take it too often, I'm sure it could cause some damage to serotonergic neurons. However, occasional (monthly to yearly) use is fairly safe, especially if you take precautions before and after taking it. The vast majority of damage is caused by oxidative free radicals directly after the MDMA high. Generally reduced heat and antioxidants can mitigate this effect. Though I've never actually taken MDMA, I've heard from a lot of friends that it's a very interesting high that involves euphoria and acceptance. Lower doses (~80 mg) tend to seem more like mild intoxication while doses around 100-120 mg seem to produce entactogenic and mildly psychedelic/stimulant effects. Most of the MDMA in my part of USA comes down from Canada (the brown molly).

Have you ever taken it? Yes, many a time back then.
What's it like? Tastes very peppery/bitter when gummed. Stings the hell out of the nose and tastes like shit dripping down the throat, like off medicine.
Do you get paranoia? Yes
Good or bad experience? All good but one which was my last time.
Did you get caught? I kinda lodged in a town where it was very common, all my friends were taking it and my parents were about 15 miles away, so no.
Where does it come from? Dealers and Friends.
What effects does it have on your brain? The highs I had were the most euphoric, happy, energised, loving, honest and absolutely loved music.
(I'm sure they are negative) but what are the long term side effects? Can warp the mind into a long term state of paranoia (still getting rid of it, but am a lot better), clouds the thought process and can change your overall perspective on things.

A small amount gives a long lasting high which feels immediately like you've had 12 espresso's in one go. Unfortunately the comedown (when you crash from the high) is a one of the worst feelings to go through. Your body aches and mind aches leaving you more frail than a pensioner. Paranoia is extremely high and people have occasionally committed suicide during the comedown faze, but I had a very good group of friends at the time who were all going through the same thing at the same time. You become hyper-sensitive to loud noises and fast movements and actions. We would watch a light comedy or listen to very chilled music and most of the time smoke a J, which made a world of difference, but thats for another topic ;) It just feels like the worst hangover you could get. Hunger during this time is the last thing you think about.

So, as far as I know, JUST MDMA does not actually make you high, but "unlocks" a high caused by chemicals that are already in your brain. I've also heard somewhere that it can help cancer patients? How does that work?

JackShephard, a lot of drugs work in that manner. In fact most of them do as far as I know. They interact with chemicals like dopamine and serotonin in the brain, either causing an increase in production/reception or inhibiting it. This interaction, or "unlocking" as you put it, with the brain's naturally produced chemicals creates an abnormal environment for neurons, which is why we perceive things differently - aka being "high".

This is why ecstasy or MDMA is a danger to society, because a lot of people don't know too many information about the drug. First of all, it's a drug that's created in a lab so it's far from natural unlike other drugs.

The primary concern is brain damage from long-term use. This is understandable considering the fact that it works with the user's brain. However, there is also a danger for short-term users. There have been reports wherein user over-hydrated because they drank too much water. Ecstasy is known to encourage users to drink a lot of water.

I've tried it on two separate occasions. The first time was at a rave. I took some sort of Ecstasy pill, waited almost two hours and took another Ecstasy. Wasn't feeling anything, so I followed with a Molly (pure MDMA), then another Molly about an hour later. I never really felt anything, so I drank a bunch of redbull and OJ (supposed to enhance the feeling I guess)? By the end of the night I was drinking and peeing a ton. Seems like I'd drink and pissed a gallon of liquid an hour.

The second time I took two Molly's at another rave. After about an hour I felt sick to my stomach for a good 10 minutes. Then it wore off and I felt pretty normal. I think I felt a little euphoric for about 1 minute (literally).

Never really felt a crash myself, but some of my friends did the next day (and we took the same pills).
