As most of you probably know, iOS 5 is being launched on the 12. What do you guys think of it? Is it better than Android Gingerbread, or the New Ice Cream Sandwich coming out soon? Which one do you like better?

What is happening to the open source force?!

Android, as always.

Android. While having an Android phone, I used to have an iPod Touch, the 4th gen. And the second before I dropped it in water. iOS is a lot more smoother but who wants to be chainlocked into their device? There is no limit with Android.

I meant a good phone to run it on. Sure, I could run it in a VM, but that's kind of pointless.

I prefer Android, but most will prefer iOS just because it's more aesthetic then Android.

IOS is my taste. Sure apple are behind with the things their OS offers, but as you can see, they re slowly bringing it up to android's functionality. I don't think they'll be as complicated as Android. Apple strives for simplicity and ease of use for their phones OS I think.

It does that. It wipes it but automatically restored everything for me.

all these people saying that ios 5 looks better: have you tried an alternative launcher? That's one of the best things about android, the customizability. <-- haha I don't think that's a word. (: oh well (: obviously I'm with android, and I'm very excited about the day the ice cream sandwich source is released and I get some of that action. (:

But yeah, with the right handset and kernel, android is very smooth and fast. (:

p.s. I like go launcher the best.

I run cyanogenmod 7 (android 2.3.7) on my htc thunderbolt with the omfgb aosp drod kernel and love it. (:

I currently use iOS 5 with my iPod Touch 4th Gen, and well iOS is the only one I've used. I've never experienced Android before, but due to the price of the iPhone compared to phones with Android I've been persuaded to go to Android in January so I'll experience and see what Android will be like then. If Android Galaxy Nexus is out November, and VM offers it at a reasonable price I'll get it (or wait if it's released in February), otherwise I'll get the Galaxy S2 but I am looking forward to using Android.

iOS is only decent if it's jailbroken. Otherwise it's shit. Android is better.

I think Android is better because you can do anything you want with it. It's fully customizable.
