Ok so I am almost 15 (freshman age), but I am in really advanced classes. I will be graduating in two more years, but I am already taking AP math and science. I know the first word that comes to mind is nerd, but whatever.

My question: Would you guys prefer to be in a real relationship (not a one night stand) with an intelligent girl or someone who is a ditz? Why?

Intelligent. I couldn't, for the life of me, stand to be in a relationship with someone who can't hold up a conversation. I find intelligence sexy, strong- it's a turn on!

A huge fantasy of mine is debating with a girl and mid-argument breaking out into a kiss.

It's smexy and the conversations would be better.

Intelligence is sexy! I couldn't imagine being in a relationship with someone who I can't have engaging conversations with. It's a must for me.

Intelligent. I prefer to be able to relate and have serious conversation with my friends, girlfriends and what not. But also I like to joke around. Bottom line - if the girl can't have an intellectual serious conversation, she's not the girl for me :P

I'd rather a girl be smarter than me.

I myself prefer intelligent girls. Conversations are important to me, also intelligent girls tend to be "nicer" girls in the sense many don't drink etc. Ditzes are just... that. Ditzes.

Intelligence alone isn't enough for me. I want character.

I find it interesting that all of you said basically the same thing. At my school, it is the ditzes, the majority of the popular croud, who have boyfriends and such. I didn't think being smart was a turn-off, so I can blame it on my school being weird.

Intelligence is important, but more than that. I don't want someone who is 100% book smart, but like Sage said, character.

I think one should also differentiate between being smart and being an intellectual. I sincerely doubt all the posters in this thread are looking for intellectuals.

It depends on the guy, but there's guys who like intelligent girls!
Though it usually isn't just about how intelligent you are, it's probably also gonna be personality and stuff involved.

Smart girls are more intelligent so they're more intimidating.

And intelligent girls generally know "who they are" well enough that they don't have to whore out to find themselves.

Definitely intelligent. I get pretty decent grades and stuff, so definitely someone i'd be able to hold up a good convo with all the time.

I wouldn't call you a nerd! I've known a bunch of people who've done advance classes and the fact that they were smart did not make them "nerds". The term, I think, implies more than intelligence. It also means someone who is in to computers and video games AND is mildly socially reserved.(I consider myself a nerd)
I'd prefer to be with a girl who is really smart, actually. Just so we could discuss different topics, such as quantum mechanics and metaphysics. I'm always a little disappointed when a girl is really nice but what I say generally goes right over their heads. (I mean that in a nice way!!)

This is what I was thinking. If I was just to base it off those two choices then intelligence but there's more to a person than just there smarts or lack of smarts.

I prefer smart, it's hot and I can't stand to talk to girls when they have no idea what they saying..

Doesn't matter. It's all in their personality, not their grades, placement in school, or IQ.
I believe, any other way, would be quite shallow.

their grades, placement in school, or IQ.

None of those things are inherently tied to intelligence. I did shit in school, my IQ is average, but many people consider me very intelligent.
