Well today was my first time driving at 14 and it was quite nerve wrecking. My question is how long did it take for you to not be nervous about driving...sooo....post away :):D

I was 15, and I still am lol, but it was with my driver's ed instructor, I was nervous at first, but by the last day of it (3rd day) I felt more calm and relaxed.

To be honest, I was never nervous about driving. It all came very naturally to me.

It took me about a year before I lost almost all my I guess "beginner's nervousness" after my first time driving. I've been driving for about a year and a half now, and only started driving alone about 3 months ago. I feel fine/ confident now :)

well i guess it takes time getting used to....but if ur confident and now wat ur doing and y u r behind the wheel, than ya shouldnt be 2 nervous.
it came to me pretty much naturally...i mean go karting is how i pretty much learn (as crazy as it seems). im not nervous, except if i had 2 get on the freeways, then i'd be nervous

It's almost been two months since I got my license and I'm still nervous every time I get behind the wheel. Sadly the car broke down and it's a total gonner (almost 290000 miles)so I can't drive until we get a new car which will be a while.

I remember driving when I was like five. Driving wasn't a big deal, but doing so legally is nice.

I started driving my grandparents' car when I was 14 or so. The second time I drove, I nearly hit a deer. Go figure.

A family friend let me drive his Mercedes R-Class, and I wasn't really nervous. I felt nice, relaxed, and comfortable behind the wheel.

I haven't driven a car yet. (Well, I backed up my dad's car once)
But when I was terrified backing up even then. And I don't know, I imagine being the one guy hitting another car on a turn or running a red light because I'm too careful and nervous.

Hopefully I'll shake it off by the time I can get my learner's permit.
And stay alive. :U

I wasn't that nervous my first time driving, the only time I really felt nervous was my first time on one of Boston's major interstates :P

I've never been nervous. I just sort of took to it and haven't really looked back.

I tried to get over the beginners nervousness as soon as i could. I took multiple driving classes, even advanced defensive driving, mauevering, etc. Im very comfortable with driving now :)

I was 14,it was considered a emergency so i had to drive.
I'm not planning to get my license when i turn 18,but it depends on where i decide to move in 2 or 4 years,so i have put off money for it just in case.

I tried driving this year and the experience was terrifying! Not that it was difficult but I feel like it's so much responsibility and pressure. Kids running across the streets for example... it's very important to be fully concentrated on driving carefully not to harm anybody! I got tired after half an hour of driving... was wet with sweat.
