I'm not sure which is the right word and pronunciation to use. Tweet or twit?

Though I've seen "Twit" be used in Twitter Clients but I don't know why they use "Twit."

I don't think I've ever heard anyone use the term 'twit' without joking about it.

I don't use Twitter...um but I use 'tweet' not 'twit'
