I know, I have a shitty laptop, but I know plenty of people who don't have the best desktops/laptops and can still play at least 25+ FPS. I've tried everything, including but not limited to; Defrag every night, game booster, smart ram and set Javaw.exe to High priority but it still runs slow. I used to be able to play it at least 20 FPS but since the newest update I'll be lucky to get 10 FPS. I've tried a few mods that are supposed to boost your FPS by 20+ but they didn't work for me.
So anybody, please help. ;~;

Theres nothing you can do, the update added a new lighting engine that needs abit more power to run. Try using advanced Open GL. its supposed to give people a 5fps boost.
What are your specs?

Install Optifog and Optimine for minecraft. Helped my netbook get up to 20 FPS. Also lets be honest, Notch's coding isn't efficient xD

I have a $300 laptop and it runs at 60+ fps on low settings using spoutcraft. According to spoutcraft devs, spoutcraft (client mod) has optifog, optimine, and other optimizations to improve performance. It also has HD texture support "out of the box".

Tried that, didn't work.

I'll give it a try.
Edit: I tried Spoutcraft (not the actual client, but I installed it into the Minecraft client so I got all the settings and stuff) and it did give me an FPS boost. Around 20-30 FPS when fog is tiny. I still want to boost my FPS more though. I wanna play Minecraft, not Blindcraft.

Haha Imma have to quote you on that. I'm afraid this is about all you can do, other than allocate more ram for java and close everything that uses a substantial amount of ram.

For some reason it's not letting me to change Javaw priority to high. :L I guess I won't be able to play Minecraft until I get a new, better computer (which is never because I'm poor)

Change all of your In Game setting to the lowest possible to start. So turn off Smooth Lighting etc. Make sure the POV is the closest possible (NOT Quake style). Also install the suggested OptiFog mentioned above.
Also, try and change the priority. Close any unneeded programs that may suck up unneeded memory (Hamachi is a prime example!)

That's all simple stuff, tried it and it doesn't help too much. I'm still stuck at around 15 FPS.

That sounds more like a calculator than a computer to me, if you have problems with Minecraft...
Though I couldn't see anything bad in your specs...

If u want to run minecraft on max with no lag u need a 3.0 GHZ cpu or 2.8 GHZ 4 gig ram can play with 2gig but not to well and a decent gpu like a ATI radeon hd 6450.Its funny how notch chose the java engine witch is the suckiest and worst for 3D games. If u want no lag on ur current pc try searching google for minecraft add more ram ignore server add ram things.Or try a launcher that adds more ram instead.

I allcolated 768M to Java, nothing. Then did 1G, nothing. 3G, nothing.
Guess my laptop is just complete SHIT.

Oh, you're not the only one. I did all that, and it's only playable on tiny with all the cool settings turned off. From my experience, it's just Minecraft. My laptop is great, never have any issues whatsoever. I get great latency with WoW, I was able to play Modern Warfare 2 with no issues at all, little bit of lag with some other games like Madness Returns, but nothing I could validly complain about. Then Minecraft showed up.
It's just so poorly scripted. You just have to grin and bear it or get a super amazing computer. It isn't that your laptop isn't good enough.

Ohbtw if you are short on ram (my personal/friends only server is) I just quit all unnecessary processes. Even explorer.exe which seems to be a ram hog on my server, using about 40% of the ram that is in use. I think gamebooster has this option (to automatically quit explorer when a game is running) but I just do it manually (after using gamebooster).

I have 4GB of RAM, and I usually don't have much running in the background. It turns out I wasn't able to accolate any RAM to Minecraft. I tried and I get a "Javaw is not recognized as an internal or external command" Not sure why, but yeah.

If you have a 64-bit os, download the 64-bit version of Java here: http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
That will allow Java to use more than ~1GB which is what 32-bit java is limited to (By default anyway)
I was having major lag issues (And on my computer, that's saying something), until I finally installed the 64-bit Java. Minecraft hogs up 1.7GB of RAM, but at least I don't lag anymore.

Now that I think of it I might have accidentally installed the 32-bit version. I just installed Java, installing the 64-bit now.

Any discerning factors to figure out which version of Java you have installed? I only know the version number. I'm too lazy to go download the 64-bit anyway. :P I'm hoping that's it though.

Well I downloaded the correct Java and allcolated about 3.5GB of RAM to Minecraft and I STILL lagged. It only bumped me up like 5 FPS. I give up. I'll wait until Minecraft comes out for the Xbox 360.

Don't allocate anything to it.
Just run the standard Minecraft launcher, and let Java decide how much ram it wants (Usually it'll suck up about 1.5GB)
Also, it could very well be your integrated graphics that's causing the issue.
If you haven't already, upgrade your graphics drivers from Intel (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+controllers&ProductProduct=Mobile+Intel%c2%ae+4+Series+Express+Chipset+Family&ProdId=2991&LineId=1101&FamilyId=39), and see if that speeds anything up.

LOL 1.5GB? Not even close bro. Try 458MB. And I've already tried many times before. It says my computer doesn't meet the requirments to upgrade my graphics drivers. Yeah, it's horseshit.
Upgrade RAM/Graphics
Yeah, not helpful at all. I have an Acer Aspire, the graphics are integrated into the motherboard, impossible to change it.
