I think it's pretty good, believe it or not. And I don't even like reading.

I like the idea of kids fighting each other to the death. The movie had better be glorious.

I rather enjoyed reading the series. Hopefully the movies can live up to its expectations.

I loved this series. Like whole hearted intense love. I read many many books and this one is in my top 3 favorite series ever. I actually was unable to sleep the night after reading the last one because I was crying over a certain characters death scene.
I pray to any and all Gods that anyone believes in that the movies don't do to The Hunger games what they did to Twilight.

I have read the first two, and I loved them. I am currently reading the third one, and I really like it as well. I saw the trailer for the movie, it didn't seem too good, so I hope they do a much better job with the final product, but I'm really excited!

Well, they can't fuck up the film too badly, considering Suzanne Collins herself wrote the screenplay.
Either they have one screwy director or she just can only write in a single style.

I didn't even get past the third chapter. I wasn't even remotely interested. Everyone kept pushing the book onto me saying how brilliant it was so I finally started reading... and whatever. I had no actually intention of ever reading it. I found it boring and not my type of book anyway.

Quoting my self here, damn right :) Now that I think about it, I think this was the point of trailer. It wasn't supposed to be able to give too much away. It was only a teaser, and probably aimed at those who read the book.
Looking forward to it though!

Quite possibly the best book series - ever. I was slightly disappointed with Mockingjay, though... but, I don't know! The whole series just kind of emanated mystery and suspense and that romance between Katniss and Peeta. It was quite amazing.
THERE'S GOING TO BE A MOVIE? :eek::eek::eek:

Ehh... that could have been done a LOT better. The trailer, that is - I hope the movie lives up to the book and isn't just another Eragon.
Gary Ross' past work has been pretty good, though, so I'm going to have some high-ish expectations for this one. :D

I know but I think that was slightly the point. To draw the readers in, and eventually the ones who have not read it. I am sure the movie will be much better.
Hopefully...

I bought it last night, and, I'm almost done with the first book. So far so good. I bought the second one too when I bought the first one so I'll probably have to buy the third one soon.

Some are and some aren't. I personally thought that the Percy Jackson movie was a good movie. The Hunger Games also has a pretty good chance at being a good movie too, especially once you get into the later books. I was reading the 2nd book and thought ''Wouldn't this had made a awesome TV show if it wasn't a book?''
The movie can be great, and, I don't think people should judge it so fast by the trailer or past experiences with books turned into movies. Harry Potter was great, Willy Wonka was awesome, The Lord of the Rings was good, Jaws was awesome, The Chronicle of Narina's are okay, Schindlers List is a great movie and the Wizards of Oz is okay. Hopefully we can add The Hungers Games to that list of good/great books turned into movies list.
