I'm 14 and my foreskin is still connected to my penis head. I can easily retract it back but it will not pull back all the way as it is attached. I have researched this and have learnt that the foreskin comes unattached naturally but normally in people much younger.

It is only connected by a small amount and is much less connected than when I was younger. There is some smegma under my foreskin which I understand is a sign that the foreskin is becoming unattached.

There are points where the skin is not attached at all and as I have aged, these have increased in size gradually allowing me to retract my foreskin further.

Is this normal? Should I be doing anything about it? I do not want to have to visit a doctor or have to explain this to my parents unless it is really necessary.

Please help me if you know what I should do, or if this was the same for you.

(As a side note I think I am reasonably developed for my age, my voice is breaking and I have some hair under my arms along with a fair amount of pubic hair.)

I know this is very specific, so feel free to direct me somewhere else if you think I'm posting in the wrong place.

I feel that you are fine, all things come in time. If you really feel that this is a problem then I suggest that you talk to your parents. I know it can be an unsettleing thing to talk to your parents about but sometimes you just need to bite the bullet and do it. I am sorry but that is the truth.

If you have anythign else please feel free to ask. Have a nice day and welcome to VT.

That little line connecting your foreskin to the head is your frenum or frenulum. It is there to prevent you from pulling your foreskin too far back by being attached to the head. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE THERE AND YOU DEFINETLY DONT WANT IT TOO BRAKE. If it does(which it wont), you will be in a shitload of pain.

Thanks for the support. The real problem is that my parents are divorced and I live with my Mum, so any medical problems I have would have to be discussed with her. She won't know about guy stuff and I don't want to be forced into seeing a doctor over nothing.

Thanks again for the advice.

No I am not talking about the frenulum. Sorry if I was being a bit vague but I mean at the front and sides (my view looking down).

Oh my bad, well then im sorry but i dont know anything about that allthough i would love to help you :/
At the age of 14 im pretty sure it shouldnt be llike that so i would suggest to talk to somebody who knows a lot about it (Most likely a doctor).

Being able to tell your mother would show her that you are trying to be mature about things also your mother may know more than what you think....
