Uploading icon to User Group.

I am trying to upload an icon to the user group, but everytime I try, from web address and from file, it always comes up with:
This JPEG image has the incorrect file extension.
It is a .gif not a JPEG.

What am I doing wrong?

Is it animated? if so it won't be compatible.

.gifs may just not work: i'm sure it'd work if it was a JPG or PNG file.

Open in paint.
Save as JPEG.
Try again. Simple solution.
