Just get nice seinheiser headphones. Beats by Dr. Dre aren't really good and you can gurantee that they tacked on 50 dollars just for the "By Dr.Dre" title.

I have the Beats Studio headphones and I swear by them, the sheer sound quality and the noise cancellation is a winning formula for me. I don't have any experience with the pros but if the studios are anything to go by then they are definitely worth.

Definitely no. Go with less expensive, better quality headphones. I believe there are several threads for headphones. Check Music.

Listen to these guys. Dr. Dre Beats are over priced for what they are.

Beats are overpriced. The sound is nice, for something half their price. Save yourself a ton and get something else.

There's no way of avoiding the fact that you're wasting your money. Even good headphones are ridiculously cheap to make.

You can get an awesome pair of grado's for around the same price and they are twice the headphones of Beats. Beats is clever marketing and brand that's all. The soundstage is okay, but the mids are almost not there. It's just bass and treble. Sennheiser are okay aswell.

I have a pair of beats studio, but yes i agree they are very over priced, if you are comparing to quality.
Morever its just made of plastic.
Its expensive because of the design and the branding.
But if you are going for quality and price, Sennheiser should be your weapon of choice.
Cheers

As with what other people are saying, it's probably a waste of money to get anything that is celebrity branded.
But take a step back from that. Why? Why would you buy any of these? There are so many good headphones on the market. Just because some guy with an album you like slaps his name on something, doesn't mean it's any good. Or that he's ever even seen the product.
But what do I know? I don't like buying name-brand anything. Maybe I should try selling something.

Spend £/$30 on some cheap sennheiser ones lol.
The beats ones do look and seem like they're quite well made but the sound isn't anything that special; the sennhiesers will be better.

Because unlike (most) clothes, headphones aren't just for looks. Chances are (if you aren't rich) you won't just buy the best looking car, or hell, the best looking computer. Since headphones, like other electronic devices, are more than just looks, it isn't an accurate comparison to make between headphones and clothes. (though I do not deny the role of looks in the decision of which products to choose, regardless)

Agreed that that wasn't the best comparison, but with the Beats people do buy them as a fashion statement because everyone regocnizes the logo. Me myself, I didnt buy them just to look good, however this was a contributing factor you could say. I had read reviews about these and most of them said that they had a great sound quality, so this is why i bought them. So i agree with you headphones, and other electronic devices aren't about all about looks and I didn't buy these purely for the looks, I bought them because they sound amazing and look good.
