Being Poor =/= Unhappy

So I volunteered at a hostel/school for kids who come from families that can't afford to send them to school. They were sweethearts. They'd line up quietly to get their food at each meal but they didn't eat once they received their plates, they'd just sit and wait for everyone else to get their food, then they'll thank god for something they were grateful for that day. After they eat, they'll wash the dishes and sweep the floor and mop the tables. They trek uphill for 5 hours each week to go home, I followed them on the walk and man was it hard. I have a lot of respect for them. Here are just some of the pictures I took.

Thanks, Rawal :) The kid is cute, isn't he? Haha. He was a cheeky brat, ran away each time I tried to hug him. Tried to kill me by pushing me off a cliff... D'aww, I miss him.

You noticed she was praying! I was wondering if anyone would. These kids have a lot of faith in god. I had no idea how to say the prayers before I ate so I just sat there while the kids said theirs eheh.
