I swear every counsellor will try and get you to have family therapy, regardless of the problem. They always have for me. As to whether it'll help, I have no idea. I never even bothered to try it.

You should have control over your therapy, and if you really don't want to do it you have the final say in that.

My therapist bugged me about this for a while as well. It you're therapy, it's you that's being treated, so you should have a say in what methods they use. If you think it's needed, like if a lot of your problems relate to your home life, then maybe it would be a good idea, if you honestly don't think it will help you don't have to, you'll never be forced into it.
