I kno that it's a bad addiction, but if it calms everyone else down, then why can't i try it?

Because the addictive side of it is not worth the calming effect. Plus the money wasted from smoking and withdrawal suck.
It would be better to try and find another way to calm yourself .

In the long run you're only creating health issues, a big hole in your wallet and a horrible addiction.

Hugh Health Issues in the future. Yes it may calm your nerves, but in the long run will it really be worth it ? Try coffee or something.

Cancer, Respiratory Problems, Oral Health problems, Bad Skin, Stroke, Cardiovascular Problems, Socially frowned upon - are all present problems with the habit.

Plus, smoking is extremely Addictive, and once you start, its very very very hard to stop.

I've had relatives die due to smoking - Id stop anyone else going through that if I could.

I wouldn't really recommend that. It seems withdrawal from caffeine can be an ugly thing to break, plus it's not all that healthy.
I think green tea is a healthier "relaxing" drink.

True, but its way better than smoking.

Let's face it, it calms you right into your grave. Of course I can't say I'm completely innocent of tobacco, but I manage to avoid cigarettes, the worst kind. Those things kill you fast, I know, I've watched.

I've been drinking caffiene since I was about 3 or 4 years old. I know I have withdrawal when I stop drinking it, but drinking caffiene isn't negatively effecting my health, so i've had no reason to stop drinking it. A small amount of caffiene can actually be beneficial to your health...

Coffee would be a good substitute. My grandma died at a relativley young age due to smoking related diseases, even after having stopped smoking. Do you really want that?

At the end of the day it's up to you though. If you think it's for you, then go ahead and smoke. I'm not saying it's all bad, just be aware of the negative consequences too.

As a smoker who is trying really really hard to quit, I won't feel bad telling you that others my report that it's calming...but that's only while you're smoking and a few minutes afterward. That few minutes of calmness....it's not worth the extra stress of craving nicotine afterward. After I finish smoking I've still got all my old worries to deal with, PLUS needing to smoke again not even half an hour afterward. It's not that great, I promise.
I ALWAYS smell like smoke, my asthma, which was under control before, is now awful. My lungs ache nearly all the time. My clothes, skin, and hair smell like tobacco no matter what perfume I wear, what soap I use, so on. I can't show my teeth when I smile. It's really not worth it.

Try drinking warm chamomile tea, it's really relaxing. I've also found that carrying magnetic balls in my pocket really helps too. When I get really wound up all I have to do is click them together in my hand and the sound helps me relax a bit. I know it sounds strange.

Hope I've helped
Take care
xLauren

I have the habit of smoking...I regret ever trying it - but I have made the choice to smoke Natural American Spirits. They are natural, no additives; not only do they burn slower but they are not as addictive, and your cancer rates are not as high, but still there.

Don't do it - it's disgusting, and I'm sure your parents wouldn't like it. My parents quit in 2000, and my mom knows I smoke but she's pretty much disappointed.

When I first started smoking, I always said - "No way I'll be addicted!" I didn't smoke that often at all...Once a month? Then it came to about three times a month...Then once a week, next thing you know I was buying my own packs and now I'm up to 2, 3 cigarettes a day.

Not good.

Because you don't want to be labeled as an underage cigarette addict like yours truly.

Don't do it.... It's addictive, and its hard to get off of. But it's your life. But a word of advice, I started smoking when I was ten. I stopped when I was 12. Not going back to that now.

I can't speak from experience but...
It may seem good at the time, but it never has good outcomes. Its just like any addiction, its just that. It will start to control your life, and if you don't have it, you never know what my happen. If you try quitting, it will only be harder. It really isn't worth it.

Enjoy your hat :P I've never touched the things! (Yeah, I'm boring. Whatcha gonna do 'bout it? :P)

But to the OP, as everyone says, the calming effects, the appetite suppressants, none of it is really worth the impact on your health and your wallet in the long term. Why do you think that products to ease withdrawal symptoms are now so widely sold and advertised? People are beginning to realise that it's not worth it, and are trying to escape from the hole they've dug themselves into. At first it's not addictive, but over time you may smoke more and more, until it becomes habitual, and that's when it's difficult to stop. Easiest way? Don't even start. It just isn't worth it.

Eh I only smoke cigarettes because of how much I smoke pot and I know that people aren't gonna agree with it but it really did lead to me smoking cigarettes. Almost every time I smoke weed I smoke a cigarette after and then more most of the time so I usually go through almost a pack a day. Also from all the stress that I have. I feel like I could quit any time that I wanted though but I've never tried lol. I wouldn't get into smoking them though because they're so bad for you and they go by so fast . It'll seem like you just started and then you lose control of how many you smoke and start smoking them whenevver you get the chance.

I would try to quit if I were you. Sure, it feels good, (I guess?) but think of the future for a minute. If you ever did try to quit, but found out that you couldn't because it was too late, what would you do? Not to mention all of the underlining health risks and things like that...
