I just came into this forum for the first time and noticed the rules of grammar sticky-So hopefully this is ok to post here.

I read it out of curiosity since I'm doing GCE english language. (not to be confused with GCSE)
I think the sticky needs up dating basically. I don't find it appropriate for somebody to state that an author shouldn't use techniques like alliteration, puns and single word sentences, for instance.

Now I know I am new and you might not take kindly to the criticism (hope it's not to harsh) but I just wanted to share my thoughts.

Yeah nobody really follows that anyway. Punctuation and sentence structure are key elements of poetry, so those rules on that sticky only apply to like... 5 year olds.

If you would like to create a better rules of grammar thread, we could replace the sticky.

The grammar sticky is satirical.....If you notice, every line breaks the rules it's stating

I thought that was to demonstrate the actual rule.

You made a grammar error yourself. =) It's always nice when someone tries to point out something when they dun goof'd themselves.

And who really cares about grammar on a teen forum?

Grammar indirectly represents intelligence.

As far as the thread is concerned, it is just a good laugh and nothing more.
