Empty

Drowning in imperfection,
Suffocating in self-hate.
Her image staring back at her.
Each rib outlined with paper white skin,
her collar bones like those of a victim.
A victim not of drought, of famine, of war
but a victim of herself.
Her mind's whispering voices,
changing the colour in her eyes.
A deep golden brown,
to empty,
to nothing.

That is very deep, and very touching. I don't regularly comment on works here, but this is so good that I had to. Thank you.

I really like this a lot! "her collar bones like those of a victim" is a seriously cool, and descriptive line. Nice imagery. :)
