Once I reinstalled Windows 7 on my computer and noticed the 'users' folder was shared. I thought maybe I had turned it on by accident, somehow, and turned it off again.

I just noticed it was turned on again, I reinstalled Windows 7 about 2 months ago. So, is it Windows' default setting to have sharing turned on for the 'users' folder?

I never touch the sharing settings because I have no need to.

I just find it a bit odd that it would be shared by default, so, is it something I'm doing during the install, or..?

C:\Users\ is by default, not shared.
Unless you're using an OEM installation disk that shares that folder as part of the install process, it shouldn't be happening.

No, I'm using the standard installation disk.

Odd.
That shouldn't happen.

On a fresh Windows 7 installation, no folders at all are shared.
So unless you, or someone else who has access to the computer, are sharing them, then something is definitely odd there.

No, only I had access to the computer. The first time I noticed it was shared, I hadn't even gone on the internet or copied any files across, so I doubt it's some weird virus.
And no, I had no reason to share anything, if I share files with people, I use Dropbox
