Most people would say "be yourself," but that's not going to help if your personality is terrible or unattractive. Try and improve yourself. What don't people like about you? Analyze that and then try and act on that. I'm not saying that you need to sell yourself out and become someone you're not, but there are little aspects of your personality you could probably work on.

Be honest. Girls like guys that they can talk to on a personal level. If all you can talk about with a chick is small talk, like "what's your favorite movie?", it's not going to go anywhere.

Don't act desperate, either. You shouldn't be talking to girls with the intention of dating them in the future, rather, you should be talking to them because you genuinely enjoy talking to them. Get to know some girls on a more personal level, and don't quickly jump to asking them out.

No, you don't. There's no such thing as "needing" a girl, especially for something as insipid as homecoming. With that attitude, you're going to end up with someone you have barely anything in common with. Getting a girl isn't about stupid school dances and other things; it doesn't work on a schedule. If you don't meet a girl you actually like by homecoming, just don't go.

What I find best is to just be yourself. Treat the person right. Joke with them, laugh with them, make a decent friendship. Then just ask them if they wanna hangout one day, do that a few times and then ask if you wanna go out.

Works for me.

Be your self, it really is important. Girls can spot a fake from miles away and thats one of the biggest turn offs. Also, smile, be sociable and friendly. You can't expect it over night, but things will change

Trust me, you aren't going to get anywhere if you don't ask. I hate it when I like a guy, and I don't know if he likes me back because he doesn't show it. The best chance you have is if you ask! Because most girls won't ask you. It's a traditional thing...the girls wait for the guys to ask them. :D
