What amendments would you like to make to the Constitution and why?
1. An amendment banning funeral protests
2. An amendment overturning the death penalty
3. An amendment banning all form of sex discrimination
4. An Amendment that allows minors of a certain age to be executed for their crimes
5. An amendment legalizing gay marriage
6. Other
I would vote for 2 and 5 because I believe in marriage equality and I believe that it is harmful to society to execute people for their crimes.

6.) Other.
The initiation of force is to be outlawed and all articles and amendments of the United States Constitution that violate this principle are null and void.

How could anyone vote for one? It is a horrible thing to do, but America was founded with that thing called freedom of speech and expression so.....

4. An Amendment that allows minors of a certain age to be executed for their crimes
I voted for this one only. And not just "minors of a certain age" but like, little kids too. Fuck yeah.

Agreed, you guys wouldn't be so quick to vote for #1 if the funeral was for a racist homophobic cyberbullying serial killer.

Yes Exactly. I also voted for four, because say your fifteen and you kill someone. How is that any different from you being 25 and killing? I never saw the difference.

All of this issues are better off being handled at the state level.

Well, the first and last one should be Federal, all the rest should be state controlled.

why is it that people think that just because you disagree with someone whatever they dont like should be outlawed? the first amendment was made so that everybody gets their freedom of speech not just those people with whom we dont have a difference of opinion. Just like when the nazis want to have a parade and the majority of people dont like it they can still do it because its a freedom of speech thing. I may not agree with those who do protest at funerals but i will defend their right to do so.

even banning all sex discrimination? apart from banning the death penalty and legalizing gay marriage, I think that one should definitely be federal level. my opinion though

that's okay. for your future reference, I'll generally won't write out the numbers indicating the amendments in the votes. It'll be #1, #2, etc :P

I agree. funeral protests are really really horrible, but they do have the right to do it...:/

I'm suprised at the people who voted to ban funeral protests. While I disagree with them, completely, i do feel they have the right to protest and picket as does everyone else, so long as they go through the necessary legal channels (most places require permits for the assembly) and don't break other laws while they're there (i.e. impeding traffic and being destructive)

My thoughts exactly. The state level of government could handle this much quicker than the federal level.

I don't think any of those should be up to the feds. Except discrimination. Our first step should be to repeal prohibition of drugs.

I'd only do the ammendment that would legalized gay marraige, and I'd ammend the one regarding substance use, and an ammendment overturning the death penalty
With the others like gay bashing and funeral protesting, I believe those are freedoms we have in most of our countries, I don't feel the government should be telling me I can't hate gays or something.
and the US has an ammednment against discrimination
and Canada has a part of the CHarter (15.1) which says no law shall discriminate against age/race/gender/ect)
but remember everyone, the bill of rights and carter ect only protects against the state hurting you.
a conflict between 2 people there is no place for the bill of rights and charter.

I chose:
1 because people have the right to Free Speech
2 because I believe people should not die and they have a chance to make up what they had done.
3 because no one should deserved to be discriminated for their sexuality (I've had my fair share)
I did not vote 4 because NO ONE deserve to be killed for their crime, they can make up for it.
I did vote 5 because Gay marriage should be made legal in every single state of the US.
I did vote 6 for abortion, abortion should be made legal because people have the right to choose if they want to carry a kid or not. And also Animal Rights. Slaughter houses should be closed down.
