View Full Version : Heavier Music
Shenron

Recently I've started listening to some heavier music (heavier for me, I usually listen to Classic Rock). I have always liked Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin. Recently I've started listening to some Korn, Godsmack, Mudvayne, and Five Finger Death Punch (their softer stuff, not into death metal). I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for some other bands. I like the grungy guitar sound if that helps. So if you have any suggestions please feel free to give them.

Think maybe the most relevant groups I could suggest would be Underoath, Three Days Grace, or Papa Roach. Then maybe some others like Rise Against, Staind, or Smile Empty Soul. Probably more as well, but I'm mind blank right now >.<

I had a hard time deciding between Kayo Dot and Godflesh. Had to go with Godflesh though.

i'm a huge classic rock fan myself, and i just started getting into newer and sort of heavier stuff like System of a Down, Evanescence, Rammstein (i've always been a fan of them tho), some Marilyn Manson. though i've been listening to System of a Down more than i have been listening to classic rock lately :o... the lyrics and vocals are quite interesting! lol

Ha ha ha! Those two bands are so deep and heavy that they make me want to change my user name to XxDeadpiexX and dye my hair purple.
Let's talk about the heaviest, nihilistic music out there, why don't we?

Implying a few of you didn't see this coming from a mile away.
Ah, I haven't posted any Naked City on this site for a while.

I also made a thread specifically for this type of music here (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=115286).
Also, you should get into classical music. Yes, I said that. I find a bunch of classical much more extreme, heavy and "metal" than metal music itself (Unless it's Metal Machine Music(Music nerd giggles)).
I mean, here's Beethoven's 5th Symphony, which I'm sure most people know of. Play this fucking loud. Does it not make you manic and want to bash someones face in with a hammer?

I wouldn't consider them to be anything like any of the bands mentioned, but you just might like La Dispute. I'm more of a piano person, but I love that band.

If you liked Five finger death punch then I'll recommend Motograter. they are amazing! Well actually every piece where Ivan Moody got involved is great.
besides that
Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, System of a Down, Papa Roach, Serj Tankian solo (the 1st album), maybe Rammstein?
early songs by Rammstein are great and try to listen to something late but not popular/singles, like Donaukinder or something like that (bonus tracks)
you can also try Megaherz and Oomph.
Guano apes are not really heavy but nice (better their early albums)
Stone Sour, Black Light Burns (nice!), CKY? Scars on Broadway.
I also like the Letter Black. They used to be a Christian rock band but now they changed.
