How can be more approachable???

What could I do to make my self more approachable. I tend to be real shy and nervous and lost for words when I around a girl that I like. Is there any thing that I can do like should I be more assertive, should I make her a drawing "I love to draw furries btw" what should I do. I'm really starting to loose it and I'm starting to think that I'm undatable. I would love to know any kind of tip that you can give me. And thanks in advance.
