I've cut words on a few occasions. Not terribly often, but I do. I have some things like "help," "hate me," and "pain" cut on my stomach and thighs.
You're not the only one... hope you're ok.

Thanks for the replies. At least I know I'm not some rare case or something. One thing that bothers me is that this is the second time I have ever cut words, the last time being many years ago so I'm worried that cutting words again means it's getting worse.
Don't worry, you'll almost never be alone when it comes to things like this.
I carve words all the time. You can see the faded scars of words on my arms, stomach, legs, and shoulders.

I remember in the self-harm clinic, this other girl had "Fuck Love" into her arm and it made me realize I could cut words.
I have "ugly" BARELY noticeable on my arm.
"Fat" completely faded on my stomach.
"Bitch" completely faded on my stomach.
And "Slut" still kind of noticeable on my left inner thigh.

When I do it, it's usually me having that little bit extra self hatred inside of me... I've done about 3/4 words... So don't worry, you aren't on your own :)

I cut "HATE" into my thigh once. It's not something I ever ever plan on doing again. Carving words just reminds you of all the negativity your trying to avoid. Seeing hate on my leg made me feel worse.

I carved FAT into my stomach. It wasn't deep and its totally healed now.
I've been tempted to do it again. But I don't think I want that kind of reminder carved into my skin...It'd do nothing to help bring me out of my depression.

I've carved several words into my legs, and cut words on my arm. My legs are properly scarred with those words now. So I really regret it. My arm is fading but it's still obvious after 6 months so it's not fading quick enough. But yeah cutting words isn't fun. It doesn't really do anything for me that normal cutting doesn't but i regret the scars a hell of a lot more.

I actually used to carve words quite a lot.
I can't remember them all, but i've definately carved "fat", "whore", "kill me", "fuck up" and quite a lot more into myself. Usually on my arm or thigh.

yeah, I used to do this a lot. Not as much anymore; but popular words were hate, perfect, and fuck up. Hate was all over me, but those scars have since mostly faded.

Well if you really want scars that you'll never be able to make excuses for, and to make your obsession with cutting 10x worse, then go ahead. But there's no need to post things like that on the forum as it could trigger people or encourage other people to do the same. If you have nothing helpful to post then please don't post at all.

I've cut "Fat" into my stomach, Whore into my legs, and I Hate You into various other places.
It's not recommended, ever. Simply because scars in the shape of words are the worst. And embarrassing.

I've done it once or twice. I DO NOT encourage it at all. It is impossible to come up with excuses for those kind of cuts and imagine looking back at it 10 years from now? Imagine explaining it to your life partner, or someone close to you?
I am glad that mine completely faded. I would not want to have to explain to someone why I had the word "FAT" scarred on my stomach next time I wore a swimsuit or next time I was changing for gym.

Does anyone else here cut words? This morning I woke up and got in the shower to find "WHY" cut into my stomach. I really don't know what to make of it.

I cut "fat" and "hate" into my thighs once, but you can't make the words out anymore because there are so many other scars on top of them. I also carved a heart into my thigh once.

I once cut you are not alone into my right thigh. It inspired me to be more positive. I don't remember cutting this and ever since I haven't cut myself. Over two years clean as of October.:)

Ive carved things before,FAG, LOVE and a heart. Its not uncommon. Im not sure whether you going back to carving things means your getting worse or if its simply just a random thing,I think the only one who can answer that is yourself. Maybe keep in mind if you had a trigger or how deep they where?? I hope u feel better.

When i was about 13 i cut the initials of my 3 catastrophic ''relationships'' only mu left breast, i regret it so much now, i have N.C. R.H. H.A. carved into me and a broken heart under them, my bf asked me what it was, i didnt even know what to say.
I cut pictures into me more than words, kind of semi-perminant scarification :)

I don't do it although i've considered it, plenty of people do. When you say that you woke up with it on you, does that mean you don't remember doing it?
