Depression if no one know about it? I'm always sad and numb, all I want to do anymore is just sleep and disappear. Everything seems hopeless and impossible and overwhelming.
The thing is, my family thinks I'm just the happiest thing on two feet! I put on a fake smile, force myself to laugh even when it hurts, I tell everyone I'm fine. And they believe it.
I always hear about how you know someone has depression because there always dark and miserable.
Can I really have depression but hide it so well that no one knows it?

Very much so, In fact its a natural thing for someone with depression to mask it with another emotion. Its something a lot of people do and depression isn't just a set thing, it varies from person to person.

Yeah that's perfectly normal, you'd be surprised how huge of a number of the people that are actually depressed do that themselves... Most if not all..

I was the same way. When ever I would turn, just even slightly, from the fake smiles and forced laughter, my parents would make up excuses. Tired. Stressed. Busy. My friends didn't even question my mood swings. You're not alone. I totally understand the fake smiles. They become second nature. I get it. You just have to find a way to cope, whether it be on your own or with someone close to you. Good luck.

Of course! Lots of people who struggles with depression or something like it, try to hide it.
Even though it's hard, you should try to get them to realize that you're not fine. You should try to get some kind of help before it gets even worse.
And I, just as many other persons here, am here if you ever need/want to talk.
